We as a first-world society have already deemed there is a floor. So we can stop with the philosophical/ideological hang-ups and actually discuss practicality.

For example, if someone is in car crash or gets shot...we don't wait to check if they have the means to pay. We act. And emergency surgery is expensive. Very expensive.

The other extreme is some chick who thinks her left boob is smaller than her right and wants that fixed.

The debate will always lie between these two goal posts.

Could those of you who agree with him answer a couple of questions for me? 1. From where does this human right come? I doubt if Bernie means it comes from God since he is an atheist. 2. If you say he means the right comes from we the people, when did we the people agree on this? What is the exact date and location of the vote? TIA

Furthering your ideas...ask Bernie...'if there are Rights...are there Responsibilities? Is Bernie implying that we the people have a (moral) Responsibility to give others a (moral) Right that they would otherwise not provide by their personal action? Or that they would aggravate by their own action/inaction?

Bernie is full of bs. He'd get tongue-tied and triggered into anger and contempt in any real debate. He is dangerous, pernicious and will start a class-based fight if he gets power.

That said, I do believe that if one hopes for Christian Mercy, via Jesus' offer...such comes with Christian Responsibility. Of course, this deal is not coerced by an offended or angry Jesus. Just offered as a form of loving, but Qualified Mercy...each individual's choice.

I'll be happy when the federal government stops making shitty nutritional guidelines and the FDA gets the frick out of the way.

Show a modicum of gov competence when it comes to anything related to my body and then let's talk.

Oh and stop allowing and even funding the killing of unbdorn children, and maybe you'll get some credence.

This senile hypocritical millionaire socialist hack can eat my shite in the meantime.

Health care is a right, but the ability to protect yourself isn't.

Right. Rights are not limited by capacity. Resources are. Healthcare is a resource.

How much healthcare is a right?

Also, healthcare services and the money to pay for it are not the same

For it to be a right, it means I was born into someone’s debt. I wasn’t so it ain’t a right. You can’t take a right from someone else.

There are no human rights, and there certainly aren't any that come from God. Anything we have can be taken away by someone with the ability to overpower us. The Constitution doesn't mean shite without our police and military.

That's all fine, but none of it addresses the questions I raised in the OP.

Literally one of the dumbest things this board says. Nobody is going to force doctors to work. The only difference really is that people will actually not go bankrupt getting treatments and getting medicine. The doctors, nurses, and all the other hospital workers will still receive their paychecks

Bernie Sanders is a con artist. If I had no soul I could pull off his routine and make millions. Dude is a political cult leader.

No it's not.

LINK

According to this Harvard study 45,000 people die annually due to lack of health insurance a similar study was done 2002 that found 22,000 people die annually. Now obviously it's going to be hard to find an exact number but that's still a big number and that's just people that didn't have health insurance.

They didn't count for those who had insurance and couldn't afford copays

The fact is we have thousands of people dying because they can't afford their medicine or their treatment. And the ones that survive often put themselves into bankruptcy which brings on a whole another host of problems.

Whether or not you think M4A is the cure you have to at least acknowledge there's a serious problem with our healthcare

22,000 in a nation of 325 million is a rounding error.

also, what is the moral difference between that and dying because you were on a waiting list?

Lol you obviously have no clue how it works. More and more people on worse and worse coverage. Give some honest thought how that will play out.

Well then we should stop spending so much trying to help current smokers breath better, current junkies continuing to get life saving treatments, etc. The fact is we are so worried about “helping” the bottom we are neglecting those who deserve more assistance.
