Does Walmart pay any worse than mom and pop shops Bernie praises? Are their profit margins unfair?

It makes no sense to me.

Where is the evidence Walmart workers are underpaid?

Bernie seems like the type of guy who would go looking for tires at a scrap yard then complain that someone gave him a set of bald tires.

Walmart workers are overpaid.

$11 an hour for pushing an item over a scanner is stupid.

“Bernie, in a single Walmart Supercenter we have more food, clothes, and gasoline than the entire nation of Venezuela. Thanks for coming “

Does Bernie hold stock? If not, I don't think he can participate.

Their pay is in line or above the average for the industry.
They need to tell him to go screw himself.

They need to unionize, obviously... I am sure that will help them....

This is my question. And if he does, how can he support such an evil company? Seems a bit hypocritical to me.

In most cases they likely pay more unless the small store has one manager that does almost everything from stocking to checking people out

All profits are unfair to Bernie, except those he made from his books.

I believe Bernie could ante up the $102.31, plus $8 transaction fee, to buy a share of WMT.

What does that even mean?

I would bet WalMart’s avg net margin is 5% or less. And that’s before overhead is paid.

Groceries have especially thin margins.

My stepson just started working at Walmart. He’s a junior in college and is making $11 an hour. Decent pay for a college kid for the work he is doing. His boss is trying to sell him on a management career after college. So he makes decent pay for the work and has possibilities for advancement. But Bernie thinks that’s bad.
