I bet they actually pay taxes. I want to know what their take home salary is after taxes and then adjusted for increased cost of living.

The bottom 50% of this country doesn’t even contribute anything to the system.

I can't believe that it took nearly a page to get to the biggest point that Sanders leaves out, they pay like 40% taxes on that. We did the math one day and an American McDs worker actually keeps more that a Denmark due to taxes that are paid or it was very comparable.

The way to turn the US into Denmark (tax wise) is to raise taxes (from zero) on the lower 50% of wage earners.

As someone who worked for a Danish company and has been to Denmark 20+ times. You know what else DK is? Homogenous, white, single culture.

The people working at McDonald’s Donald’s there are the level you’d find only at CFA here. And yes Mc Donald’s is as expensive as frick, and people can’t afford to eat out like we do in the US- it’s a “treat” and not something done all the time.

Correct. The take home wages are about the same, but the tax revenue in Denmark is infinitely higher because our McDonald’s workers don’t contribute. When analyzed like that, it’s obvious why dims push the higher wages narrative. Because it guarantees more money to institute paternalistic policies that will be exploited to pad their back pockets. fricking scum, all of them.

That could help prevent future toilet paper shortages.

How much does a cheeseburger cost in Denmark?

The "Big Mac Index" reports Denmark has the fifth most expensive hamburger in the world, costing $4.32.

So yeah, let's help the poor by raising the cost of a fast food hamburger to $5.

In Denmark, the average worker in McDonald's makes $22 an hour, receives 6 weeks of paid vacation, 1 year of paid family leave, life insurance and a pension. Yes. If McDonald's workers in Denmark can have a decent standard of living, we can do it in the U.S.

And are taxed 65% of their earnings, and their taxes actually goes to something, and the people trust their government.

We have a very prolonged and steady history of politicians fricking over private citizens and squandering tax dollars on "gender studies" or other stupid shite. Also, Denmark is what, 99% white? You don't think that impacts anything?

I wonder if 35% of their workforce is unemployed like in the US

Oh look at that it's hovering around 80% versus 65% here. Weird.

Most of Europe has this. My company has offices in Czech Republic, Belgium, Ireland, and Norway. Those mf'ers are never at work when I email them. I get out of office responses about vacations all the time. Their maternity leave policy is even more insane.

Hey Bern - Lower taxes and working people will have more money in their pocket. If you are going to be absurd and ignore economics, then so shall we.

McDonald's in Denmark have fewer employees per location due to automation such as ordering via kiosk. Employees in Denmark pay a fairly steep income tax. Plus, they have a 25% VAT, I believe. McDonald's workers in America would likely fall below the income tax threshold unless they held two jobs. Comparing Denmark to the US is apples and oranges. They know it but their sheep will believe without even a quick peek at verifying such.
I read an article comparing the two a couple of months ago when I think AOC made the same claims but can't find it.
