They pay a shitload in taxes, but it seems they actually get some benefits out of it unlike the U.S. It seems like every time we pour more taxes into the education system (or any system for that matter), things just get shittier.

Its even more interesting that Denmark McDonald’s pays more hourly to their employees than Bernie paid hourly to his furloughed staff due to rising campaign costs.

22 USD an hour? What’s the comparative cost of living?

Thats because they don't give it away to other countries as bribes for personal kickbacks. They are a tiny homogeneous country the size and population of Maryland. The comparison is retarded, but Bernie appeals to retards.

And a Toyota Corolla or VW Golf is $42,000.

And a movie ticket is $18.

And a pair of jeans is $115.

But it is awesome!!

So I just did the math.

Because if the high taxes in Denmark, if you make $22 and hour there it’s the same as making $17 an hour here. You would get the same take home pay.

After you adjust for their higher sales tax rate at 25% it’s equivalent to $16 and hour in the US.

And finally after you adjust for a 15% higher cost of living in Denmark a $22 an hour salary in Denmark is equivalent to a $13 an hour salary in the US

Bernie is a fricking idiot

In Denmark, the average worker in McDonald's makes $22 an hour, receives 6 weeks of paid vacation, 1 year of paid family leave, life insurance and a pension.
Do that here, and a burger, fries and a drink will cost $20 and McDonalds will go out of business.

Answer these 2 questions:

1. What is the end take home pay for US McDonald's workers v. Denmark McDonald's?

2. What taxes is the McDonald's franchise burdened with in the US v.Denmark?

3. Denmark has a 25% VAT. Add that into the equation.

I have a better idea. How about US McDonald's workers emigrate to Denmark?

So a US senator is forming his financial opinions from a meme that was debunked here a couple of weeks ago. Brilliant.

My answer then, my answer now:
quote:

The income tax in Denmark ranges from 65% to 55%. That's right, the LOW END is 55%. That means that burger slinger pays over half her income back to the government. Oh, and a 22% national sales tax every time she buys something.

Now if you want to tell the 47% of this country that pays zero income taxes that they're about to pony up over half their income so they can make $21/hour at McDonalds, let me know in advance so I can pull up a chair and watch the reaction.
