THE SOCIALISTS ARE ALREADY MAKING DEMANDS: Hakeem Jeffries filed for Speaker, and the incoming DSA members won't commit to him.

Their price list, per Axios and the WSJ: Medicare for All, universal childcare, wealth taxes, abolishing ICE, and cutting off aid to Israel.

One DSA publication literally told them to "hold the speakership hostage."

Jeffries is offering to restore Obamacare tax credits. They call that an insult.

This is the party that just took Congress. The moderates get the gavel, the socialists write the agenda.

Enjoy your new majority, Hakeem.

Hakeem is about to get a good dose of what Mike J had over the past several years.

Both parties have severe issues being split. Next election will be wild being the first time both parties will have legitimate primary elections at the same time since 2016.

Been lots of FA time over the years with the traditional Dems welcoming the Marxists into the “big tent” and “managing” it.

Those traditional Dems are now entering the FO phase.

The difference being Democrats were given a much larger majority and can afford defections. The ignorant masses nearly gave the Senate a filibuster proof majority. You people are dreaming. The electorate is so ignorant they will likely elect a Democrat for President.

As bad as Tuesday was for Republicans, watching the Dems of 10 years ago battling with DSA is going to be hilarious. Hakeem probably thought he was coming in like King Kong and taking over without opposition. I'm just here for the chaos. The more the two argue and feud the less chance they can frick up the country more.

Hakeem lucked out on this Blue Wave. It was large enough to relegate the DSA group to the back of the bus if he can hold the remainder of dems in control like Pelosi did.

There was substantial discussion that if the Dems only had a 4-5 member majority then the DSA could dictate everything by holding their votes hostage. It appears that the majority is large enough to make that threat less likely.

Every single kid in America living at home playing video games voted for all that.

So did the 21 yo girl at McDonalds, the barista at Starbucks and every young person today just about.

Oh good lord. The disaster that may befall us from aggressively taxing people like Bezos, Zuck, and Musk and using that revenue to fund things that will benefit average people would be unbelievable. It will destroy this country just like it has destroyed every other developed nation on the planet. An agency like ICE that has been around since Washington was President is an indispensable pillar of our democracy. And cutting off aid to poor, impoverished Israel? We might as well throw the Jews back in the oven. Antisemites, all of them.

I expected Schumer to be pushed out

It’ll be interesting to see how Jeffries deals with the DSAers

If this was a 220-225 person majority, this would be a major issue for Jeffries. With 255 or so people in the majority, this is much less of a problem for him.

I believe there are 12-13 DSA people and only one was considered a swing district.
