BATON ROUGE - In response to a wave of increasing violence in the Baton Rouge area, the mayor's office issued a Thursday morning news release detailing steps some locals are taking to address rising crime.
According to the release, a group of residents known as the Baton Rouge Street Team are participating in a training program designed to help them become more effective in responding to violence in the 70802 and 70805 zip codes.
The mayor's office says the pilot program is made up of trusted community members with the necessary relationships needed to deescalate conflicts and steer residents in crisis towards available resources.

Pandering nonsensical word vomit by a politician which will cost tax payers huge sums of money and accomplish nothing. Awesome.

You could require individuals to work for their food but I suppose that is none of my business. Maybe EXPECT people to be responsible for themselves and accountable for their decisions.

A bunch of "community leaders" about to get some serious money stuck in their pocket. I wonder what percentage has to be kicked back?
Defund the police and give the money to "leaders".
You can't make this shite up. Is there any black run city that is not a cesspool of corruption?

Yesterday the BRBR ran a story about BRAC and the business community banding together to fight crime.
Today we see the mayor putting together a task force made up of community leaders to fight crime.
It’s obvious to anyone paying attention that Broome has no desire to really go after the gangs and thugs herself. She obviously isn’t a big law and order person and she doesn’t back the badge.
My suggestion to these business leaders and community leaders; the best way to fight crime is to elect a mayor, a DA and judges who want to fight crime and put the thugs in Angola. Supporting Broome like many did was a foolish proposition and now you are seeing just how bad she is.

Biden's Federal Tax dollars at work. Notice no names or political affiliation listed. In the meantime, another child is buried this week.
