Here’s a simple question: if a Christian quietly prayed outside a mosque, would you automatically assume hostile intent? Or would you say, “he’s just practicing his faith”?

If your answer changes depending on which religion is involved, then this isn’t really about behavior. It’s about bias.

Do you really think Evangelical Christianity and Islam are moral equivalents?

Questions as quoted above betray a stunning ignorance of (church) history. Evangelical Christianity was birthed out of persecution and exalts the Lord Jesus who was crucified in our place and was resurrected.

Conversely, Islam got its start by persecuting others and led by a violent, sexual pervert.

Not the same.

give an example of a Christian praying in front of a mosque

Here is an example. Imagine if Muslims were doing something similar across the street from a Christian church.

quote:

Owais Khan just wants to go pray.

But an undeniably amplified voice booming across the way calls him a sinner and warns him of his impending eternal damnation, unless he disavows Islam and accepts Jesus Christ as his sole savior and the Son of God, as he walks to the front door of the East Plano Islamic Center (EPIC).

Khan, and about a thousand other visitors, rushed to make it in time for Jummah, the Friday prayer service that is mandatory for Muslim men. But the screaming voices of Christians camped out on the public pasture right outside EPIC’s property line are a loud reminder of the hateful misconceptions of his faith and his mosque that have been propelled by government leaders.

“This is where we are right now in this country,” Khan said. “There’s just so much hatred. Everyone is trying to divide everyone else into these little groups. Why? Why are we doing this to ourselves?”

Khan, along with more than a thousand other worshippers at one of the largest mosques in North Texas, can still hear the backyard televangelists from EPIC’s foyer, even though they’re at least 300 feet away. The mosque’s imam has told the worshippers not to engage with the screaming protesters lest they find themselves at the center of internet virality, a risk he says they should not be willing to take.

The evangelist group, which comes prepared for its two-hour sermons on the lawn with a tent, amplifier and Bibles to distribute, calls itself Testimonies of God and aims to “provide biblically sound and thoroughly curated content for all things Christian-based.” They do so in the usual way: by screaming at passersby in communal spaces and then posting their sermons and rage-bait interactions on TikTok for their 4,800 followers.

“Repent and turn to Jesus Christ,” an unidentified voice yells through a megaphone at one of the Muslim worshippers.

Jesus is the 2nd most important prophet in Islam.

Meanwhile, the Jewish Talmud states that Jesus is boiling in excrement in Hell.

Is Judaism incompatible with the West, too?

So not the messiah? Got it.

I would suggest that history says yes. However, my opinion on that point is not set in stone.

But there’s a big problem with your argument: you keep switching between “Islam as a religion” and “a single Muslim guy praying quietly.”

Who is "you?" AlwysATgr? Why are you attributing these as quotes to me? I'm not switching between anything. Where do you come up with this stuff?

quote:

Your porn analogy actually shows the weakness here. A porn shoot is a public sexual act. A guy praying is… a guy praying. Those situations are nowhere close, so you had to swap in something intentionally outrageous as an attempt to make your point work.

Was Mohammed other than an outrageous pervert? Maybe had he showed up himself n the parking lot with his child bride or the men on Al Zutt . . . But it's all ok if we dress 'em up in Muslim garb and baptize it in "quiet praying" huh?

Thought experiment: let's say the pastor welcomed him to pray then and anytime. Bring a friend or two. If it begins to rain and storm, does he welcome them inside to pray?

quote:

And your Jesus/Paul comparisons still don’t fit the facts. Jesus cleared the Temple because people were corrupting and exploiting worship inside Judaism’s holiest site. Paul rebuked Elymas because he was actively trying to stop someone from accepting Christianity.

I am suggesting when people obscure and obstruct real worship of the One, True, Living God of the Bible, the Jesus of the Bible opposes them. And that's what Islam does and what this Muslim was doing (not switching between them) and the pastor was Biblically justified in his actions.

Moreover, there is no basis to limit this to "his own religious system" of that day. The source Scripture for Jesus words (Is. 56:7) and in the parallel account in Mk. 11 tell us real worship is for all people/nations.

quote:

So here’s the real question: do you honestly believe a peaceful Muslim praying in a parking lot deserves to be treated the same way Jesus treated corrupt Temple profiteers and Paul treated a man actively trying to block conversion? Because that’s the comparison you’re making.

I don't agree with your premise of a "peaceful Muslim." You treat Muslims as a scalar. I view them as a vector. If they are followers of Muhammad, they are inclined to violence. He was. So it's a matter of how far along they are on the violence axis.

Muslim plant with agenda to divide and conquer that church. Baptist members will fight amongst themselves whether he should be allowed to join or not.

This is patently false and blatantly dishonest for you to post such.

If they believed in the Jesus of the NT, they would immediately repudiate Islam and bow the knee to the Lord Jesus, God incarnate, sinless, crucified, buried, resurrected, exalted to God's right hand, and our soon coming King. There is no other Rock.

Not dishonest at all. I'm just explaining to you what their beliefs are. They have beliefs just as you have beliefs. Only one belief can be correct, or neither belief is correct. Both beliefs cannot be correct because they contradict each other.

Muslims recognize the existence of the Jesus of the New Testament.

They consider themselves to be descendants of Abraham.

They recognize Jews and Christians as "people of the book" because they acknowledge the holy scriptures of those 2 religions.

They acknowledge that Jesus was born of a virgin, performed miracles, and preached the gospel to the Jews.

They just don't acknowledge his divinity, and that Jesus never claimed to be divine.

They also claim that the Torah, Psalms and New Testament that we have today were altered from the original versions that were Allah's divine words.
