quote:No, you don't. If that is the depth of your logic, any rational discussion on this topic is lost on you.
Can you specify who doesn't receive a benefit from corporate tax cuts except for maybe a professional homeless person on the street or a welfare queen who lives off the taxpayer?
I guess I'd have to know the bonus schedule of every corporation to answer that.
quote:Wal-Mart employees enjoy having a stock purchase option as part of their employee benefits. If they purchase WMT stock via their "Associates Stock Purchase Plan" the company matches their money fifteen cents on the dollar up to the first $1,800 of stock purchases per year. That's a guaranteed immediate 15% return on their money.
Off the top of my head, I don't remember reading that Walmart employees have benefited.

Every now and then there's an article that makes the news where a long-term store clerk at Wal-Mart leaves the company a millionaire because she took advantage of their stock purchase plan.
So, yes, Wal-Mart employees do benefit from their company's reduction in taxes.

I'll add math to my list.

Based on the tax cut, AT&T is distributing $1000.00 bonus checks to 200,000 workers.
Except for the 700 employees they just laid off

You're not good at math are you?
1000 x 200,000 = 200,000,000

So it's 200 million dollars?

YOU are the poster in this thread who is being emotional. So emotional, in fact, that you've totally misinterpreted what someone else posted at least TWICE that I've seen.

You're the tax cut expert yet cannot multiply $1000 x 200k employees.

Just going off what someone else said.

So it's 200 million dollars?
I've also heard about a dozen companies announcing ~15% pay raises for base employees. Within the hour, BB&T was the latest company to make that commitment.

WMT up 42% YTD too. The tax cut does one of two things - Walmart will enjoy larger margins that will either be returned to shareholders or passed on to customers with more competitive pricing, or both.

When banks gave bonuses after the bail out, people were pissed. But this other form of corporate welfare is celebrated. Lots if cognitive dissonance up in here.
I wanted to craft a snarky response to this POS post but just reading it zapped my creative juices.

That's over a year ago and sure doesn't fit the definition of "just" laid off. And all of those layoffs were in the "management" category due to corporate reorganization.

You're safe. You work for the government. You can't be laid off no matter how poorly you perform in your job or how much time you spend on TigerDroppings while you're at work.
