If true he really doesn’t care whether he stays in office or not. Or he’s banking on rigged machines to keep him in office and he feels like he can do whatever he wants.

The Establishment wing of the Republican Party sees this as their chance to take back over the Party. They think Republican voters want them back.

Well him being out for himself made this country more prosperous and safe. Awesome.

NYT started this BS. Now everyone is piling on.

There is no way in hell that the Republicans use their johnsons for shark bait.

Doing so, with over 90% Republican approval and over 48% national approval for Trump would be a death sentence for the party.

If this is true and McConnell votes to convict, I'm voting third party for the remainder of my life. There is absolutely no reason to convict other than to ensure that Trump doesn't run again in 2024.

Sure thing there, Bud.

He fought to lower taxes and succeeded.

He fought to lower prescription drug prices and succeeded.

He fought for a landmark criminal justice reform and succeeded.

He resisted the push to involve us in new wars and brought more troops home than any modern day President.

He secured historic Middle East Peace agreements.

The list goes on and on...

And you say he was only out for himself?

Are you a buffoon?

Politico just released a poll and it showed that 40 percent of republicans would vote for trump in the primaries in 2024. The only other person clearing double digits is pence at 18 percent.

They said Trump was at 53 percent before last week.

If politico is saying 40 percent it’s probably more like 60 percent

There's a better than 50-50 chance that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell would vote to convict President Trump in an impeachment trial, sources tell Axios.

No there's not. No legitimate "sources" told Axios anything of the sort.

NYT is standing by the story but I definitely hope they are wrong. If anything I guess some republican senators could choose to abstain from voting yes or no so they could play both sides of the issue

Minus HFCaucus Trump supporters. I have not done the math... but if Turtle is ordering a go. It is a done deal.

Turtle doesn't GAF about anyone but the DC bubble.

They could ban the sky from Trump for a cloud forming Trumps hair and face, impeach and throw him out. Trump would still have the endorsement power of 80 million Trump supporters.

I am very concerned though, that this impeachment removal *coupled with* the Jan 17th 'armed' protest that is not Trump supporters. Will do the trick on branding 80 million Trump supporters for something they did not do. They will use Q to pin this on all Trump supporters & Trump, like they semi did with Jan 6th.

McConnell? He's 78 years old... he just got re-elected for another 6 years... he would 84 years old for his next election... serving in the Senate until he's 90?

Feinstein is too old and losing it and her staff went to Dem leadership and she's being pulled back from a lot of things and being made to retire when her term ends, if not sooner.

I do have my concerns about Biden's age... he will be watched closely. It was obvious to me as a kid that Reagan (who - if you can believe it - was younger than even Trump at the time) was having trouble keeping his brain on the reservation. It is an individual thing... there's some people in their 90s who are just as mentally sharp as ever. But...

There's like 17 GOP senators up for reelection in 2022 they would be committing political suicide.

But I hope McConnell does it. I want the GOP gone

In a most recent poll, Republicans think that the GOP should be more like Trump. Congress has a lowly 15% approval rating. Mitch want's to commit political suicide for the GOPe.

It's very unlikely that Trump will be removed from office. The most likely scenario is that they will vote to impeach and convict him after January 20th so Trump won't ever be allowed to run for office. The Republicans could purge Trump from their party without having to do the dirty work of removing him from the presidency before his term is over.

Sorry but I don’t believe this at all. Cocaine Mitch hasn’t stayed in power as long as he has by being stupid (although he’s plenty swampy). No way he alienates the Trump base. Trump won Kentucky with 62% of the vote

Why does MItch care? He just got re-elected to his last term. No way someone his age goes again.
