Well, everyone seemed to be making a big deal about it on twitter. In my own ignorance, I didn't know that.

I assumed they were coming up like Hungary's are in a few weeks

Just remember, the right in Europe is very different from the right in the U.S. outside of the issue of immigration. In Europe, the right is usually a supporter of monarchy and the church combined with often very socialist ideas around workers, taxation, and entitlements. It is typically the center-right parties that are more interested in low taxes and free markets.

Far right: absolute monarchies, anti-woke, eliminating separation of church and state, remigration, cradle to grave welfare, tithes

Center right: liberal democracies, unfettered immigration, free markets, low taxes, restricting entitlements/worker protections to make markets more viable, nominally anti-woke but rarely do anything in practice, privatizing government services, low government spending, nominally Christian but believe in strong separation of church and state

Center left: liberal democracies, freeish markets, pro-woke, anti-free speech, carbon neutrality to net zero, de-emphasizing religion in public, unfettered immigration, robust government benefits and worker protections

Far left: literal Stalinists, unfettered immigration, de-growth, cradle to grave entitlements, nationalizing all industries, outlawing religion

The bottom three parties will coalition together to stop the far right.

Like in the US, I'm sure most of the newly elected officials lied about their beliefs to get in power and will do nothing.

What country kept disqualifying candidates? Was it Germany?

Yes. Germany also had something like 7 AfD candidates die mysteriously right before the elections.

Great overview Kingbob

I would throw in

Greens (often allied with some kind of "Agrarian" party). I don't think Center-Left is quite where they are due to their emphasis on anti-militarism, green policies (at the expense of workers), etc.

And then you have single issue parties (Scottish Independence, Basque Independence, Lutheran parties in very Catholic countries, etc.). Not big players but can snag 2-3% and disrupt or join a coalition if it's close.

The Greens pretend otherwise, but in most countries, they are literally just communists using farmer issues and environmentalism as a shield. Once you do a little digging, you find that they believe in “de-growth”, which is a fancy way of saying genocide the white people by making them too poor and miserable to reproduce.

Very weird since no Stalinist nation ever practiced unfettered immigration.

They’re using the immigrants to cause chaos to collapse the state in order to create a power vacuum that the Communists plan to fill. Once taking power, the Stalinists will govern nearly identically to the far right except the state IS the religion instead of religion being the state.

The communists attempted a similar strategy in Iran, where they used the hard-line Islamists to cause chaos for the Shah, then used his crackdowns as justification to take to the streets. The difference is that after overthrowing the Shah, the Mullahs outfoxed the communists and took some of their ideas, but purged the rest.

Then come the purges!!!

No seriously, I know modern collectivists are using immigrants to seemingly sow discord. Wouldn't call modern collectivists Stalinists though...well maybe if only post implementation is considered.

Seems this tactic has not and is not working anywhere they tried it. Seems pendulum swings beat them.

Hell, it didn't take much in the Slavic nations. Just a slight number of Nepalese and the people now want a new Balkan Union. May Yugoslavia rise!!!

Did you know that 9 candidates from other parties died in the same time period, and that there were over 20,000 candidates running for positions?

If Communists were smart, they wouldn’t be Communists. Their inability to understand math is legendary, but their patience at long term planning is laudable.
