Police described the suspect in the unprovoked attack as an adult male with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a red North Face zip-up jacket, black hooded sweatshirt, grey sweat pants, black sneakers and carrying a black tote bag.

A gutless thief sucker-punched a 38-year-old in the face and then took off with the man’s watch, police said.

Cops on Saturday released a surveillance photo of the unidentified suspect, who pummeled the victim in Greenwich Village on Friday at about 3:15 p.m.

The victim was walking in front of Salvation Army headquarters at 120 West 14th St., between Sixth and Seventh avenues, when the suspect approached him from behind and socked him in the right side of the face, police said.

When the 38-year-old crumpled to the sidewalk, the robber scooped up the victim’s $750 watch that had fallen to the ground and ran eastbound towards the intersection of Avenue of the Americas and West 14th Street, cops said.

The victim suffered bruises to the face but refused medical attention at the scene.
