JUST IN: AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson arrives in lobby of Trump Tower.

AT&T is planning on buying Time Warner, CNN's parent company, for $100B. I bet this is an especially interesting meeting

I see a dumping of CNN in the very near future. Let it sink or swim on it's own. However, Disney likely will buy it and it'll be just another SJW outlet for their liberal slant.

Should happen like this: In exchange for supporting the deal, ATT CEO promises to uncuck CNN.

I hope AT&T sees the light and walks away from the CNN part of the merger. My T stock holdings have sure taken a hit since the merger was announced.

Correct. I am not in favor of this.

Donald: "I could have the DOJ block this merger as violating anti-trust laws. On the other hand you could kick the shite out of that fake news organization and bring them to heel. Let me know what your choice is."

Trump has so much swagger that businesses will be lining up to meet with him all throughout his two terms in office just for the chance of getting a positive tweet.

Having ATT own both Time Warner and DTV is significant and not good for the consumer for TV and broadband.

I normally go back and forth between ATT and TWC for internet service because after 1 year the rate doubles. So I flip to the other.

I guess there's still google fiber. But I don't need much bandwidth.

Just as an FYI -

Time Warner is not the same as Time Warner Cable. The latter is now owned as part of Charter Communications and has been transitioning into Spectrum Communications.

The AT&T deal is to acquire all the media companies of Time Warner. Here is a list of the assets. LINK It is really mind boggling that AT&T will own all this, plus the satellite and cable delivery vehicle.

AT&T is already in hot water with the FCC over how they are giving their DirecTV Now Internet cable service preferential treatment in violation of Net Neutrality rules. They really should not have this much power over the media.

It is a dangerous merger. As it is Spectrum owns TWC and they rule.
