As we approach the 250th birthday of the Nation, what's your assessment for the US?

I'm sure I frequently come across as a bit of a doom and gloom person on this forum as evidenced by some of my posts but in my heart, mind and soul I'm the eternal optimist. I'm an eternal optimist because I believe in a loving, righteous and eternal Creator whose greatest gift to humanity was his Son, Jesus Christ.

The Creator's bestowment of unbridled free will for all mankind is also a gift.....and it's the unbridled free will that really separates mankind from every other creature on God's earth and it allows mankind to have a relationship with their Creator.

I felt I needed to give some insight of my spiritual being before giving my honest assessment of where the US is today and the potential future Americans are recklessly stumbling towards in the not too distant future.

Where the US is today is at the proverbial crossroad, a crossroad where a nation either finds its guts, heart and soul or where a nation loses itself to inexcusable apathy or by ignoring or refusing to respond to the forces that seek to destroy the nation the revolutionary patriots fought, bled and died for many generations ago.

Said differently, we're in a fight to preserve the only nation in the world where those who believe in God given free will, individual freedom, personal responsibility, free speech, the right to bear arms, freedom of religion, etc. can exist.

People who believe in these ^^^^ things have no place to go. The US is the last stronghold of Western civilization and it is undeniably under attack from external enemies and the enemies from within. If a significant majority of Americans fail to understand what's at stake and they decide they do not want to fight to preserve the greatest nation in the history of mankind it will eventually fall. There's no way to predict when the US finally teeters over the edge into the socialism/communism/Marxism abyss but there's no denying that event horizon is inevitable if there is not a 180 degree course correction.

Here's something all Americans need to understand. When you hear people speak about the societal benefits of socialism, communism and Marxism they either are purposefully lying or they're grossly ignorant of history. Socialism, communism and Marxism are incestuous bedfellows and nothing good comes from any of these poisonous ideologies.

I vote. I trust God. I'm proud and grateful to be an American, but disappointed in some of my fellow citizens.

Whatever may come, God wins- I've made my peace with it.

The window to save America from what it has already become closed long ago. The Vietnam era destroyed the nation and then they had children and grandchildren who are facilitating its destruction. Now we have large percentages of Americans who openly hate the country and what it was founded on then we have millions of “moderates” who don’t stand for anything and change with the wind

Still a good country. Could be a lot better and we are trending in the wrong direction, but on the flip side, could be magnitudes worse. Pretty happy I won the genetic lottery and my ancestors moved here, as opposed to being in the UK or Germany right now.

My assessment

Outside of the internet world where TDS and Panicans bitch all day.. in the real world, we are kicking arse and everybody seems to be pretty damn happy with the way things are going

Restaurants are jammed packed every night... Nightclubs and bars are packed every might . Malls are slammed packed every day.. concerts and festivals are always at capacity packed.. sports are packed.. even triple A baseball games are packed every night.. the economy is humming where I live

We’re in trouble and I don’t see a good way out of it. The easiest thing for everyone would be a national divorce and a repudiation of the debt, but secession was pretty much criminalized in 1861, and the federal government has proven they will hold states hostage to preserve a sham union. We will likely go the way of bankruptcy visa vis the British Empire with increasingly diminishing global prestige, although it could always get as bad as a total monetary crackup.

This nation - or its power structure - does not value and actually holds its citizenry in contempt. Thus, it will eventually fail... just like the venture capital acquisitions it has resembled in the last couple of decades tend to do.

Celebrate 250 years of exceptionalism… then prepare for a funeral beginning July 5th. Because this country is finished, maybe not technically, but the principles and notions of liberty and freedom this country was founded on are dead.

The commies played the long game and won. At least politically. To change it or reverse course, there will be no voting our way out of this.

Both the right and the left need to focus far more on what we have, not what we presume we don't.

That said, the negativity is predominately a leftist issue. 70% of Republicans are extremely proud to be American, compared with 28% of independents and 14% of Democrats. When combining those who were extremely or very proud, 93% of Republicans expressed high levels of pride, compared with 51% of independents and just 27% of Democrats. LINK

We are amazing but could be amazinger.

Too many people are ungrateful and take too much for granted for us to see our full potential.

best experiment and best country in the history of the world.

better today than it was yesterday.

I'm optimistic the pendulum swung too far during 2020-2024 and is starting to swing back in the other direction.

Bet against the US at your own peril

More and more govt controls and providing more govt services/goods will be our downfall, not anything from the outside. The growing dependent class will cripple our social infrastructure.
