Capitalism does not equal government picking winners and losers.

Lets look at Virtue vs. Vice:

In the eyes of government:
Food:
Vice:
Red Meat is high in saturated fat, must be regulated, must have warning label applied.

Refined sugars: Give ‘er Poor people, get your calories.

Virtue: Plant-Based meat (its Eco-Friendly!) government subsidy.

Vice: Cigarettes, tax the shite out of them as the root of all bad health.

Virtue: Pfizer vaccines, antibiotics, daily pills, ritalin: buy-buy-buy folks we will help subsidize.

Energy:
Vice: “Fossil Fuels” - why would you evil motherf*ckers want to burn dinosaur bones?

Virtue: “Rebewables” - dont give 2 shits if they work or not we gonna draw credit on the US Dollar and subsidizie them till they do “work”

None of this is capitalism. It is an Oligarchy.

Read Fredric Bastiat, "The Law." It'll take you a lunch hour.

That is *not* where I thought you were going to go based on your earlier responses.

But while you're at it, remind me how us Jews run everything. Maybe you're drinking a bit faster than I am, but damn, man.

"High finance?" Is that "Big Food?" "Big Pharma?" "Big Shipping?" "Big eCommerce (Amazon, Walmart, etc.)?"

Big doesn't mean bad, necessarily. However, the exception seems to be the influence that the federal gov has over things that they don't know anything about. Do I have a problem with someone from South Dakota voting on something re: corn? No. Do I have a problem when someone from Vermont, RI, CT, or New Hampshire that votes on a corn law (which really means Ethanol, or "pollution reduction act" or some other BS) executing pay for play to get a vote on a bill for a subway for Providence, RI? Sure.

Who is "they?" The race baiting industry, big "green" that has pushed useless ESG bullshite which is crippling global food supplies because fertilizer=bad? Who are the bad peeps? We didn't tell the Dutch to cripple their ag economy, the left did. I didn't tell kids in Europe to eat mealworms for protein, the left did. Trump didn't. Bush didn't (I didn't say which Bush on purpose.) Reagan didn't.

I forgot, where is Blackrock based? Dallas or Kansas City, right? I would love to engage in productive debate, but I'm going to have to wait until lunchtime tomorrow in this thread to determine where you actually are, and where you may be persuaded to move to.

The problems we have are not capitalism. Just the opposite. The number one problem is our fed govt hates this country. So the Do not follow the laws.

Monopolies are encouraged when they are illegal. Mergers consolidate power and reduce competition.

Google should not be anything but a search engine yet they have so many other subsidiaries that have an unfair advantage. They should not be allowed to purchase YouTube for instance.

Stop discouraging competition.

hey run things for themselves INCLUDING the government. You really think the government is some independent entity? No. High finance runs the government. You fools want to shrink government, good luck. You need to TAKE OVER the government and use it to punish these corporate overlords.
When you say, "You need to TAKE OVER...," it's a self-reflective premise. My observation of your proposal is you are a closeted fascist.

Capitalism is not the problem democracy is what is not sustainable. When the majority of people figure out they can vote to take what other people have democracy has ran its course.

Do not even go into the "differences" betwween Socalism/Marxism/Fasicsm for justification. The underlying principle is that some "one"(person, party, Zuckerberg) needs to be in charge, and and anyone that debates it needs to be "culled." Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao, they're all the same.

Good for the earth I guess, since so many people are fertilizer instead of breathing oxygen.

I've often had the same thought. Every system will create its own demons, and the demons people mention in here - crony capitalism, corportocracy, etc. - are all created by the system itself.

The control and extension of power and money will always unwind a system, no matter how perfect, because humans are generally shitty by nature. Only with real, well-meaning, benevolent people in power would ANY system might have a shot.

But even then, the truly benevolent will always get out maneuvered by those with the same level of power/capital combined with the thirst for control and power.

Someone is always willing to sacrifice more, their own morals mainly, to get something more than another. The focus on money and growth can never result in a good result. Efficiency will remain supreme, always.

The ultimate midwit

Fascism is the complete opposite of communism in focus and action.

Under capitalism, you have options.

Being forced fed corn syrup, or not fed at all are acceptable under "shared" forms of govt

This is a classic sign of Low-T. Diminishing testosterone turns you into the emotional wreck that is a woman.

Pussies cannot lead men to action, they can only worry about the feelings of the others. This poster's username even evokes weakness, 'weagle99'.

Unfortunately for 'weagle', it appears there are no masculine men left to challenge him in his errant thinking. Therefore there is no possibility of an honorable death. This sad sack will wither and eventually & violently reach out and grasp anything it can as it sinks down to darkness.

With capitalism people choose what they want to buy. Companies strive to supply the best goods at the lowest price. With socialism, Govt decides what you can buy from who and at what price. People from socialists countries are amazed when they visit our grocery stores and see all the available products. With capitalism you have supply, with socialism you have no supply.
