Environmental protection to a reasonable degree.

EPA was created by Nixon
National parks by teddy roosevelt
CEPA was signed into law by Governor reagan

This used to be and still should be a conservative stance in my opinion. Clean air and water are necessary for human life and society to function....

I tend to think our national park system is pretty damn good.

Wilson signed it into law, but it was Teddy Roosevelt that made it happen.

That’s the rub. The only universal health care model that I think would come close to working in the US as far as execution would be the French system … the British and Canadian monstrosities would be disastrous … but the average physician salary in France is a little more than a third of the average physician salary in the US.

decriminalize weed on the federal level, leave it up to the states

I'm not sure that I would classify this as a liberal policy.

building standards or OSHA

Interestingly, I'm currently in a OSHA safety class; and the number of construction deaths each year in the US before OSHA was established was astronomical compared to after.

It’s too bad the “environmental” movement stopped being about that.

Damn shame too. My elementary school food was so good the cafeteria had section set aside for the public eat lunch. Wednesday was stew day and the place would be packed. And those fresh hot from the oven sourdough rolls. OMG!

She was angry that welfare/food stamp recipients kids were not receiving school lunches over the summer.

We don't receive food stamps or any welfare benefits. Never have. But for some reason, I got two envelops in the mail addressed to my 12 year old and 10 year old. I opened them to discover EBT cards loaded with $120 each. Afyer some research, i learned it is through some Alabama program that is linked to a USDA program. But, it said you had to apply and/or already be getting SNAP benefits. We never applied.

Apparently, just this summer, every child that attended school this year in AL is getting them according to people i ha e talked to. People I know that make way more money than us are getting them. I don't know what prompted it this year, but I do know that it was a pleasant surprise when pleasant surprises are nearly extinct when dealing with government entities.

I think the only one I can really get behind is free lunch for school aged children during the school year

This. It is either free or not free. Should not be income based.

Mass transit expansion, though the fact it's considered a liberal policy by some is ridiculous.

Would only work in specific corridors due to lack of population, and environmental regs make major infrastructure projects unattainable.

If you want massive public works in this country the environmental laws and regs need a major rolling back.

I oppose the death penalty. I believe there are people among us who deserve killing but no one is entitled to do so. Especially the state.

Weed should be 100% decriminalized across the country. I don't require it but those of you who do should be allowed to do so.

Clean air and clean water make sense. Liberals generally overkill of the issue and turn it into a religion.

This is one of the main reasons why healthcare costs rose starting in the 80s. Health insurance is a scam.

I didn’t say “free healthcare” or “government provided”.

What we have now is an absolute clusterfrick, though, and private interests have zero incentive to fix it.

I think policies that encourage healthy intelligent people to have children. I think our mass produced food needs to be regulated in a similar way that Europe does

Liberal policies?? You should brush up on your political lingo. Nowadays, "liberals " are moderate Republicans.
Democrats are no longer liberal...... they are Marxist.

If you're basing your interpretation of drug law on individual rights, you need to realize that drug laws are also built around the common good.

I'm suggesting that drugs be criminalized at the state level, not the federal one.
