I gave up reading comics when I was a kid. Never understood the desire to watch comic book movies.

I’d be fine with a michael b jordan super man. But this...
Don’t get me wrong, donald glover is a fantastic actor and he’s one of the more creative minds in the business. But he’s not superman. The only way he could have ever found himself on a list of favorites to play superman is if the decision makers were so superficial that the full extent of their thinking was “we want a black superman - who’s a popular black actor? - people like donald glover - put him on the board!”
Literally even a second more thought than that would make it clear as day why this would be a terrible terrible choice. He doesn’t fit any possible version of the role.

Comic books fill a niche for big budget action movies with familiar characters and can draw from a wealth of source material carefully crafted over 60+ years.
