Tax cuts will be paid for by increased consumer spending.

Congress doesn't really want to do work. They are happy in being told what to do so long as they can increase their personal net worth. They smile and dial most Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.

Trump isn't increasing anything. The Houses write the bill and pass the bill. The POTUS signs or doesn't.

I don't like it at all but balancing the budget year one is probably impossible. I would like to see yearly deficit trend down not up.

You’re being too hard on them. Do you realize how difficult it is to stand behind a lectern and talk for a marathon session of 2 hours? They truly are suffering on our behalf.

did you know the country had a surplus last month? One of the bigger surpluses in recent times?

Dude, Biden's lame arse had a budget surplus of $210 Billion in April 0f 2024. It's April, and income taxes are paid.

But would it surprise you to know that we spent almost 4.4% more ($592 B) in April 2025 than in April 2024 ($567B) ?

Yes, it's still Biden's budget, but let's call a spade a spade here. It is doubtful that Trump can (or will) do much about government spending. And that is depressing AF because if you boil it it down, our debt is the biggest National Security risk we have. Not trade deals that need to be rectified, or China, or Russia, or whatever. Our inability to tackle our debt will ultimately be our undoing.

I routinely send trays of food to Scalise and Kennedy's homes because I know how much the both of them sacrifice on our behalf.

I don't think the article I branch can help themselves.

They're basically addicts.

If you've ever interacted with an addict you will understand.

I’m not a big fan of the tax cuts until we get the spending under control. And yes one of the proposed tax cuts will benefit me. I want to see real reductions in spending, not just the DOGE stuff with USAID. Those are minor in relation to the total budget. Military and entitlements need to be controlled.

The TDS inflicted and marxist democrats will line up in this thread to tell us how you are supposed to be able to fix 12 years (Obama/Biden) of destroying this country for free.

Tell us how you would balance the budget THIS YEAR. Otherwise you are "increasing the deficit".

You are increasing the debt but you could be cutting the deficit.

They can't go to a balanced budget in one year.

There’s GOP resistance in Congress to implement the DOGE cuts. They’re even trying to continue funding tranny surgery for adults

Explain to me how Trump is responsible for the intransigence and profligacy of the GOP Congressional Caucus.

The Democrats spent more.

And saddled you with 26% inflation.

Trump is who he is. He has always been a moderate and was never a fiscal conservative. I like Trump as much as anyone, but all this crying is for nothing.
