I’ve said this before & this goes for ANY national sporting event. There are so many people in the USA that even a fringe population could support any given number of leagues. There are treefiddy millions of Americans to choose from.

From another perspective there are channels on cable & satellite I’ve never heard of yet have plenty of revenue to keep 24/7 programming that never ends.

As someone said earlier, I quit watching basketball after Shaq retired. Let’s assume half the population is conservative and boycotted all professional sports. That’s still 175 million people that could support all leagues without issue. As the Latino population continues to rise soccer will be bigger than both baseball and basketball combined in 20 years. Unless every conservative is pumping out 4 kids a piece it’s going to trend in that direction.

I hear local news talk about the Atlanta Hawks a lot because apparently they are doing really well but that’s all I know. I can’t name a single player and have no idea who they are playing but I think it’s playoff time now.

I can't watch oppressed people make millions knowing a cop is right at the exit door with a gun to hunt them down.

Breaks my heart.. Especially under that oppressive flag.

Boycotting is the wrong word to use. I stopped watching because I was no longer interested in their product they were selling. My decision was not so that they would react one way or the other. Much the same way I'm not interested in any of the various Housewives of _______, I'm not interested in the NBA. The fact that others enjoy makes no difference to me at all.

If anyone that stopped watching a year or so ago suddenly decided to go back to watching, it would make no difference to me. I gave up my LSU season tickets, and I grew up loving LSU. I promise I'm not missing the NBA.

I've watched the Hawks in the playoffs. I'm a very, very bandwagon Hawks fan I guess.

It's been fun. There's practically no woke content. The Hawks are likable.

There is expected to be major ratings in TV ratings moving forward, especially involving sports, as Nielsen begins counting out-of-home viewership. Viewers will now be counted from places such as bars, restaurants, and airports. Viewers will also be counted if they take their mobile devices from the home and use those to watch.

I started my boycott of the NBA before the anthem stuff. The rules have changed and it stinks. Hell, if you want to dunk you get 4 steps after picking up our dribble.

The NBA playoffs took place during FOOTBALL season last year. Overall (not just a 2 week period of playoffs) ratings are down about 25% even from last year (covid season). Nice try cherry picking a few games here and there though in an effort prove an incorrect point.

Should tell the nba something about pandering to blm if you keep politics and praising thugs out of your game people will watch. The only bad thing is knowing the pels fired Monty Williams and he’s so good. I also really like watching the hawks they have a superstar and surrounded him with 3nd players that they can send at you. They could be better but their top pick last year got hurt. With young, diakante, Vernon Carey jr, and Collins they are real good
