Further, my personal stance on fossil fuels is that we should continue working on viable alternatives sooner rather than later.
A very noble goal. What are you doing to pursue it?

Maybe this is irrational, but I fear that given the finite availability of it, if there aren't competitive alternatives already available by the time it becomes scarce then we would be in for a world of hurt economically
Indeed. But "the end is near" argument has been around for over a century.

during 9/11 when every flight was grounded world wide, global temperatures spiked by 2 degrees.

This is definitely not what the Travis study found and the scope of the study was not "global". Additionally, the FAA doesn't have the authority to ground every flight world wide. US military aircraft were still flying in those days after 9/11.

Critics of the study have noted that skies over the US were unusually cloud-free over those days and the temperatures used in the study only went back to 1971.

Clouds can cool temps by reflecting the sun's rays in the daytime and warm temps by blocking heat from escaping the atmosphere at night. Even Travis has said he doesn't know what the net effect is.

It's this type of false hyperbole based on non-scientific research that is relied on as evidence of GW. But the way contrails act is actually pretty cool.

fact - more CO2 is released in 1 volcanic eruption then all of mankind has produced since the beginning of time.

Actually, mankind produces about 100 times more CO2 than all volcanoes combined. Also, we can actually use the carbon in tree rings to verify that the amount of CO2 produced by mankind is having a dramatic effect. Carbon-14 is produced naturally in the atmosphere by the sun, and the carbon in the atmosphere and the oceans naturally contain similar fractions of carbon-14 due to the carbon cycle. Fossil fuels have no carbon-14 since it has all since disappeared over millions of years, and as a result the CO2 produced by burning it has no carbon-14. We see that the fraction of carbon-14 is the atmosphere is dropping as CO2 concentrations increase, so essentially all of the increase in atmospheric CO2 is due to mankind.

fact - Mars is undergoing the same temperature changes as earth, please explain how mankind is causing it.
Link, please? We have almost zero data on the historical climate on Mars, so I won't hold my breath on that link. On top of that, Mars has no oceans, little atmosphere, and orbit variations that create a situation where its extremely low thermal inertia is greatly impacted by almost everything.

When I wake up all hours of the night concerned about the evils of global warming, I just consider the source and go right back to sleep.

Also it makes no sense that man would cause all of this warming because how could you explain the warming thousands of years ago.

The amount of warming so far is not the concern, instead it is the apparent rate of warming compared to the past.

Mars (and Pluto) Warming

There are plenty of sites that discuss Mars warming. The GWists admit that temps on Mars and Pluto are increasing. However, instead of acknowledging the obvious conclusion that it's not related to human activity, they pick one possible cause, solar activity, and discredit it.

No I don't think its fake. I just don't really care what politicians have to say about it. That goes for both republicans and democrats. I'm more concerned with the scientific research on it. I honestly can't stand the fact that its so politicized. Personally it seems like anytime I say I agree that global warming is real and manmade I'm automatically a liberal democrat. Frak that. I consider myself to be a man of science and that's it.

and I've seen no evidence to show that it complete messes up the cycle

I actually think that soon the earth is going to begin to cool slightly because the sun is going to go through a slightly less active period. Maybe I'm wrong but we shall see
