are there still people who still believe the earth is warming and man caused it?

this topic always seems to come up on days like today. Currently about 8am CST in Baton Rouge is is bellow freezing this really doesn't happen that often this far south, it goes bellow freezing but only when the sun in down, it may not get to above freezing until noon today. This is not even that bad down here in many parts of the country they won't even break 0 degrees today. With record setting cold weather in many parts of the country how can you say that the world is warming?
so are there people who still believe man is the cause of the earth warming or are these people finally going away.
I could believe that the earth is still warming but its not as bad as people like al gore made it out to be not to long ago

No - they've shifted - now, any extreme weather is man's fault.

No. The same people that will tell you that man has caused global warming will also acknowledge that the earth is millions of years old. During this period of millions upon millions of years, the earth experienced dramatic warming and cooling long before man (or precursor to man) ever even walked the earth. The idea that man is now causing global warming, or as it is now being referred to as "climate change" (hard to call it global warming when it is the coldest winter in recent memory) , is complete and utter bullshite.

Channel surfing on the station called WE. I actually saw a commercial to send money and pledge monthly to SAVE the polar bears! It had the sappy sad music and if YOU ACT NOW and send money-you get a picture of the polar bear you are saving and a stuffed animal polar bear.

it's all natural no matter what
Posted on 1/6/14 at 8:06 am to catholictigerfan
Yes there are many of them in fact. I find it very interesting that those same people never ever think about what natural forces of the planet and sun effects are influences on the temps at all. One volcanic eruption spews an amount of global warming/climate changing gases into the atmosphere in a few hours.

people are fricking stupid. because of that, an "industry" can be spawned and the ones at the top make alot of money.

Manbearpig Gore is not going to give up his hoax/cash cow without a fight.
So, they simply changed it ... no more "global warming" ... now, "climate change".
No matter how you slice it ... unfavorable weather is due to man.
Biggest crock of BS ever.

the sun is going into one of its weakest cycles in a long time the weather is obviously going to be negatively affected by the sun.
in the 17th century and 18th century the sun when through a 50 year cycle or so that had little to no sun spots. This caused a little ice age.
recently last 60 years or so we have been in a maximum period meaning the sun has been more active then normal. We may be going away from the maximum and into a less active period. If the sun has an impact on the temp and the weather than we are going to move to colder times.

Do those people know that their effort to save the polar bears has consequences....
If we have more polar bears, those polar bears will eat more baby seals! Oh, the humanity!

the sun being less active is all due to man

It doesn't matter the reason, progressives just want to tax people and companies with money. Fossil fuel energy companies happen to have money so they need a reason to tax it. So, CO2 as a byproduct of fossil fuels is a good place for them to attack.
It's a feedback loop that helps the political class and academia. Academia gets grants, politicians get reasons to tax and the people get screwed.

I wonder if this green crap will stop one day. All this lets go green stuff was surrounding global warming now that this seems to be all BS does the momentum it gained enough to keep it around for a while or does it die out.
also do we continue to work towards "sustainable" energy?

Before I clicked the poli board just now, I told myself there is a 97% chance of a thread about today's cold weather and global warming.
Congrats on being that guy

We are suffering rom a lack of Druids and Pagans worshipping the sun and it is getting pissed off for the lack of attention it deserves.

Some claim the sky is falling and use any inconvenient or unpleasant weather as evidence.
Climate change appears to be a naturally occurring phenomenon. I think human activity has a negligible impact on climate, if any and I question the insistence that CO2 be treated as a pollutant.
I don't have a problem with being "green"....but we need to put more effort into actually cleaning up out waterways, lakes, and air. The effort is wasted in "carbon footprint" bullshite when the focus needs to be on actual pollutants that cause health problems and harm the environment.

This argument is so intriguing. You have each group using the same line of, "Anybody that still believes Man MAde Global Warming IS [IS NOT] real is ignoring reality and does not understand the facts"
If you dont believe it is happening, you are labeled a "flat earther" because it is so obvious...just look at the facts.
If you do believe it is happening, you are gullible and dont know the REAL facts.
That is the beauty of the "information age". There is SO much access to So much information, that facts are disguised.

I agree with this.
