Apple refused to comply with a court order for them to build in a security flaw so that a suspect’s phone could be broken into. Later, Apple complied with a search warrant for information stored on Apple’s cloud service.
That doesn’t strike me as particularly outlandish. But, you know, feels and whatnot.

What should we have instead of an Apple product?
Which company do we go to?

Not choosing sides AT ALL!

I have never owned an Apple product. Initially it was due to use of MS Office products for work. Then it seemed driven by fad. Then driven by fanboys and fangirls. I simply felt no need to change.
Now get off my yard.

Yet patriots buy Apple products and their stock. Not good.

Is anyone going to mention that no where in that article or the Apple Insider "article" does it say that Apple granted access to Stone's iCloud?
Jdoc (and several of you) really need to start clicking past the headline. ESPECIALLY when it's Gateway Pundit.

I’ll save my outrage for when this is confirmed as true. If this is the case we will hear more about it, garenteed.

How many Alan Dershowitz liberals are left? He represents a dying breed. I respect him and any that are left. My apologies to them.

So I think this witch hunt with stone is ridiculous but they had a search warrant for the stuff.
If the feds sent a search warrant to apple for the San Bernadino shooter’s iCloud info they would’ve gotten it too.
Asking apple to hack into a phone is different.

Can anyone tell me which product we should use to be safe from the prying eyes of government?

I’ve seen and talked to Tim Cook while he’s walked the sidewalks on gamedays. If I can remember this thread the next time I see him, I will ask him why.

The Department of Justice’s Office of the Inspector General (OIG) last week released a new report that supports what EFF has long suspected: that the FBI’s legal fight with Apple in 2016 to create backdoor access to a San Bernardino shooter’s iPhone was more focused on creating legal precedent than it was on accessing the one specific device.
From the onset, we suspected that the FBI’s primary goal in its effort to access to an iPhone found in the wake of the December 2015 mass shootings in San Bernardino wasn’t simply to unlock the device at issue. Rather, we believed that the FBI’s intention with the litigation was to obtain legal precedent that it could compel Apple to sabotage its own security mechanisms. Among other disturbing revelations, the new OIG report confirms our suspicion: senior leaders within the FBI were “definitely not happy” when the agency realized that another solution to access the contents of the phone had been found through an outside vendor and the legal proceeding against Apple couldn’t continue.
The FBI was more interested in gaining control over Americans than it was in investigating a terrorist attack. This theme plays out in the Roger Stone incident as well. Attacking Stone helps them maintain power, so they are willing to go about it the legal way.

The irony of these people calling Trump and The Deplorables fascists.

So not that I don’t think Apple wouldn’t do something different for a Lib over a Conservative...
But unless I’m completely mis-remembering, they didn’t deny access to the San Bern killers cloud account, they refused to create software to break the passcode on his phone.
If that is the case, which I’m almost positive it is, this is apple to oranges

The very sad story here is not that Apple is against the President, they are against America, they are a danger to our Constitution
