She's also too stupid to realize that 15.00 an hour takes you just above that poverty level the government has set, people would lose most of their govt benefits ......oh wait

Sadly, AOC’s intellect is representative of about 90% of lib/progs under the age of 30.

Which is more than that of 90% conservatives above the age of 30, which is in turn more than that of 90% MAGs above the age of 30.

Isn't Denmark deporting refugees?

Should we always do what Denmark does?

We have no walls keeping people in. She should emigrate.

It is utterly embarrassing that “pay people enough to live” is a stance that’s even up for debate.

No one is prevented from earning over minimum wage. Why does she act like it’s a salary cap?

remember a few years back McDonalds was offering to pay starters at $21.00 in some North Dakota restaurants. The was the labor market price.

I know some people that worked there...they said there was one McDonald’s that took 6+ months to open after being built (it may have even failed to open) because they couldn’t find labor, even at those wages.

My guess is the Dane making 21.00 is a vastly superior worker than the American making 10.00

I agree, but still only has the purchasing power of a McDonald's worker here. Prob more educated too.

That sounds like an awesome utopia.

In about 73, a coke in the U.S. was a quarter. In Denmark when I was there they were a dollar.

It's not what you make, it's what you bring home.

Exactly. Massive taxation makes that a lot less than 21/hr in the end.

Also, the welfare states of Europe are all raising their retirement ages as their systems collapse. They aren't socialist anyway. They're nanny states with high taxation, but they have some of the lowest corporate tax rates in the world.

Don't believe me? Just ask them.

Danish PM in US: Denmark is not socialist

I wonder if anybody taught these dumbass progressives about politics. It seems these idiots want to continue to fight battles they can't possibly win.

The minimum wage increase in the COVID bill is dead...deal with it. It will come back up and if you can make and get behind deals in Congress with this majority the Ds can probably get it to 10-11/hr. That is a compromise they'll have to live with.

If they were smart they would be fighting about something they might be able to win in this COVID bill....like the stimulus limits....that in my mind is a winnable argument to keep them at what they were for the rest of the payments in 2020.

I don't necessarily endorse that policy but it is something that they can win.....and what they, and Biden, need right now are wins.

While I can't speak of Danish workers I can speak on Finnish McDonalds. If the worker is from Finland the quality is really good compared to America. However, Finns are becoming to the point where these jobs are beneath them. So now all the migrant workers (bearded babies or hairy hands as the Finns like to call them) are manning the fast food sector here and the quality and service is quickly going to shite. I would actually say it's probably about 30% worse than American fast food. Hell, if you want to grab a table here be prepared to clean it yourself. Also try not to trip over the overflowing trash coming from the trash cans.

I remember this also. Dickinson ND. Stopped at the WalMart there on a trip. Signs with starting pay $20 everywhere. Everybody went to work in the oil fields and sucked up all the labor.
