She’s Trumpian in many ways and a better pol than 90% of the toads in Washington... I don’t agree with her statement re: Trump but her instincts about not caving to Amazon were spot on

Is this equivalent to the 25k job deal she killed or is this a few hundred jobs?

Good job antagonizing Bezos there. She may need support from WaPo somewhere down the line.

Follow the money..... who currently owns the property they are going to build on..... that will be your answer as to who is pushing the public deal, and the private behind the scenes deal.

I don’t know and I’m not sure it matters. This is huge for her story and her brand as an outsider pol with a bright future leading her crazy wing of the party.

She’s a moron and a child. If she didn’t have 98% of the global messaging on her side she’d be non existent.

AO Cankles can continue to eat a bag of dicks IMHO.

If she truly believes she’s won anything, lulz. Before all is said and done Beezos and Amazon will have their revenge ... right about time for her next election.

It’s a win because no public money was used.

Calm down Alejandro, this isn't nearly the scope of what Amazon had been planning before

quote:

It appears as though Amazon is snapping up properties left and right, the only difference being that now it’ll just be another corporate tenant in a city with millions of corporate tenants. Plans to invest in the improvement of our city will be abandoned. Many have long forgotten those plans, but I remember them well.

Amazon will not build a new, 600-seat school; it will not build a tech incubator, nor will it build a 10,000-square-feet training facility. It will not build a 3.5-acre public waterfront space; it will not build 260,000 square feet of affordable light industrial space with 25,000 square feet designated for nonprofit arts uses. The 1500 residents of QueensBridge Housing Projects will not be trained and placed in upwardly mobile jobs, nor will the 300 NYCHA residents get career training in cybersecurity, IT and web development.

Nor will the city allocate $650 million generated from taxes received by Amazon to a Long Island City infrastructure fund, and 10,000 union construction jobs will not be created.

I’m fine with cutting public assistance to both billionaires and leaches. In fact, let’s get rid of it altogether.

So instead of a massive presence in NYC with 25,000 jobs, Amazon will have a small presence in NYC with just 1,500 jobs.

If AOC thinks that's a win, she's an idiot.

She owns Trump like it's the NFL and she's the Patriots. There's a reason why cultists hate her.

She's like an educated, honest, non-clown version of Trump. But much better, because she actually gives a shite about people rather than using and conning them.
