I think this escalated well beyond her cognitive abilities. The poor woman seems borderline crazy and I honestly believe that even if she is the one who set this in motion, far more sinister players got involved and her handlers have been trotting her out like a show horse and the poor bewildered woman is still wondering what the hell happened.
