Thanks for validating my post. I didn’t need it. But it still feels right.

Have you seen Zooey Zephyr? What about the trans terrorist who killed innocent children at a Presbyterian church school?
The trans movement has reached critical mass. It’s real and a problem.

I have an aunt that lived a real hard life. Was adopted. Struggled through childhood. Lots of trouble and drugs. Was in and out of jail several times, in and out of detox several times. Got pregnant once, gave up the baby.
One day, she said she was a lesbian. Cool.
About 10 years later, said she was trans. Transmitioned to a man. Did the hormones, etc. Has a beard. Changed name. Now he's my uncle.
But, she was probably mid 30s before she realized she was a lesbian, and mid 40s before trans.
I don't understand it. I don't care. If he thinks he is is a he, whatever.
As far as kids around the area, we know a lady who has a daughter that identifies as non-binary. But to me, she just seems more of a tomboy.
The number of kids at the high school, well, several teachers (all very straight) have told me that maybe 1 in 10 kids at some point has soemthing that identifies... girls kissing girls, boys kissing boys, boys who act feminine, etc. Honestly, I see more sissy boys and butch girls than anything trans.

Anyone actually deal with trannies and kids issues IRL
There are actually some children who truly suffer from gender dysphoria at a very young age. I knew one in Baton Rouge many years ago - a boy that just insisted he was a girl. It was agonizing for the parents, as they didn't know what to do and there was much less support.
But ALSO, there was much less compulsion to medicate and chop. So the child had counseling over the years - he was allowed to dress as he saw fit and wear his hair long, etc. Now pushing 30, my understanding is he turned out to be mildly on the spectrum AND just turned out to be run of the mill gay. (Which, BTW, is probably how the majority of those actual gender dysphoric males will turn out).
I know of another girl - 20ish now - who ALWAYS presented as a boy. Same thing - agony for the parents, didn't know what to do, counseling, etc. Now that she is an adult, she's had top surgery and intends to live the rest of life as a male. I personally encouraged her to wait until at least 25 (full brain formation) to make a decision, but she funded it on her own and is an adult.
All of this is to say, we shouldn't just call kids like this "trannies", like they are some human refuse without concerned parents. We should treat them with respect and sympathy and allow it to play out into adulthood.
Now, where I get off the boat is this crazy push for younger and younger children to just be "affirmed" - meaning puberty blockers, surgeries and all manner of other nonsense that clearly SHOULD NOT be done to children. In terms of that, I'm not personally acquainted with any. The worst I've seen is some school districts that have "progressive" gender policies that I don't like.

Live in Ascension Parish, my daughter's best friend's older sister has 3 of her 4 close friends claiming to be lesbian.
While I hope this upcoming generation sheds this LGBTQ bullshite, the poll numbers are still very concerning.
Had a cool waiter at my favorite local restaurant do the tranny thing. I always asked for him, then he shows up to the table in drag one night wanting to talk and talk and talk about how he just came out as trans and his family this and his family that. Really awkward conversation. Thankfully he didn't last, never saw him again after that night.

You created a straw man that doesn’t exist. No one says “trans” kids are garbage. We just think extreme life altering medical procedures for children should be banned and that we shouldn’t be forced to indulge anyone’s mental illness by denying reality.

Don’t get too confident. Had an issue in the local baseball league with it and some of it in the schools here too.

i have already had the talk with my daughter but she goes to church and knows already anyway it is wrong. she knows about the mental illness. the evil, demented stuff people are doing. when we were in middle school back in the day we all discussed sex, homos, lesbos ,etc. maybe not so much trans but we knew what a trans was. just because a kid may be banned from social media in your house and on your iphone you give your kid does not mean they will not watch shite on another friends phone. You have to have that talk. if not you are rolling the dice. there is no shielding your kid. they will eventually find out stuff. best it is on your terms.

Yes, BUT, my daughter is in the arts and you get a lot of fricking weirdos in there.
From my HS, there was a girl who was batshit crazy at the time who was an open lesbian who went to prom in a tux. She now claims she is trans. Not particularly surprised.
At my daughter’s school, at least two of the adults working in the musical theater problem are trans and one of my daughter’s friends also claims to be trans.
In general, my experience has been that trans has been mental issues due to not feeling secure in their own skin and thinking that being different would fix things. Nothing I have seen has changed my mind.

Had a girl work for us a couple of years back, she was probably 15 at the time. After a few months she started telling everyone that she was going by Damen now. We didn't think much of it and figured if that's what she wants to be called so be it. She quits a few months later on good terms.
About a year after that she puts in an application as Damen and we hire her back. When she comes to orientation, she is now full "trans," short hair dressed like a boy obviously wearing an ace bandage or something else under her shirt. Her first question was what should she do if a customer misgenders her. I was caught off guard and said that we don't have a policy on that but she should be respectful to the customers and we should not correct them.
She only worked for us for a couple months this time around, and I havent seen her since. I can only hope that she hasn't done anything permanent. Her aunt worked for us some time ago so I checked out her Facebook page and it was filled with Trans rights propaganda. So sad to see someone so young get radicalized like that. This isn't just something happening in Hollywood or on tic toc, it's real and scary.

A more respectful title would have been "anyone actual deal with gender dysphoric children and their issues IRL".
I fully agree that it is a mental illness - which is why I'm often disgusted by how people on here talk about kids that have it...as if they are human refuse to be denigrated. They don't seem to hate the illness - they actually hate the kid.

I am hearing this repeatedly. In 5 years we will learn that the vast majority of trans people are autistic. They are being victimized by the medical “professionals”.

I work at a pharmacy in ATX in a part of town that caters a bit to the demographic. We have about 10 changers that get monthly rx's for mostly hormones and always anti depressants and anti psychotics. I can say that working all over different parts of town that would be more likely to cater to these people that 5 to 7 years ago...we had nothing like the current state of things. We had none of this. Definately a new phenomenon.
All of it cycles though. Every 5-10 years its something new that captures a societal consciousness. We become focused on it for awhile and then something new comes along.
