Bronze plan? BRONZE PLAN?!?!?!?!?
In Louisiana (Baton Rouge area) $700 a month with a $1500 deductible is a PLATINUM plan.
You're over here complaining about wanting bare-bones coverage, and you're buying a platinum plan?
Fool.

A bronze plan shouldn't be $700 a month unless you're in the middle of nowhere in Idaho or something.
Bull shite. My bronze level was $576 month in Georgia.
Bama Atl you need to actually GO TO THE EXCHANGE and price out a plan. You need to shut your mouth until you do this. You live in this false reality. You need to see for yourself what others are paying. A bronze level plan at $700 per month isn't far off if you are 50 or older.

Its crazy I have a family of 4 and its 1800 a month. Ive been blessed but its getting out of hand....

I did, hence why I asked him his state. In Louisiana, for a single person who's not nearing retirement, $700 is a platinum plan.
As usual, he didn't provide all of the fact when he whined about his health 'insurance'.

don't worry your old plan didn't cover anything and you're too stupid to make your own choices, including having to have sex-based treatment for those not of that sex
I understand. I am waiting for BamaAtl and comrade Bonhoeffer to tell me my major medical pre Obamacare policy was utterly worthless because it didn't cover birth control and substance abuse. When will I ever learn?

Uh.. what?
Entering the Baton Rouge Zip code gives, for a 50 year old single male, premiums for Bronze plans ranging from $480 to $979. For Bronze plans.
Silver plans range from 656 to 1320
Gold plans range from 710 to 1381.
The lone platinum plan is $1085 with Vantage health plans.

Try it for a 35 year old. If he's still actively able to consider having kids, he's not 50.

Why not?
At least they get choices.
Here, it's "Which of these 4 Cigna plans do you want".
1 Bronze, 2 Silver, 1 Gold. Very narrow networks.

Same situation here. 1800 a month, high deductible, no dental. Huge increases from 4 years ago.
I'd sure like to apply the $1300 more a month I spend on Healthcare to add another employee, hire some illegal immigrants to landscape my yard, or save some river otter, but alas, I cannot.

Fool.
it was a joke, but here are screen shots from healthcare.gov
I included my last name so everyone knows this is legit
how much does this plan cost for 2018?
only a 21.5% increase from last year, aftr an insane jump in 2017...and an insane jump in 2016, going back to my sub-$100/month plan in 2010
now what is the cheapest plan?
(again, no cheating, i left the bottom of the "current plan" in display so you know there are no shenanigans going on)
the lowest premium offered is $452. the deductible is so high that this isn't even insurance that is suitable for my needs. i'm essentially paying $452/month to not be able to use insurance, so that if i need care (for an emergency), i have to write a $6500 check before a 40% coinsurance payment even kicks in. that is not insurance
so that over $5k/year I pay is a sunk cost because i can't even get insurance until I pay 6500 (and then i have to deal with coinsurance). so i have to pay basicaly 12k before insurance pays anything. then my max isn't for another grand or so. that's an insane plan for what i need
the lowest payments with a reasonable deductible is a 566.05/mo plan with a $3200 deductible. however, it only pays 20% coninsurace until the $6600 out of pocket max. if you don't believe me, i can post the pic of this, too.
if i pay 700/mo with a 1k deductible. then i only hit 9400 in total payments for insurance to kick in. if disaster strikes, i will pay less. also, since my deductible is so low, i can actually do things like utilize a PCP. so while i was joking about it, it's probably my best option.
also, i went and looked. in 2013 i paid 150/month. in 2014 that jumped to 300/month. in 2017 i paid 512/mo.
the major increases in my premiums/deductibles were all on the ACA and had little to do with anything the GOP did
so, now that i've posted screen shots: what did i do that is so wrong that i am being punished?

Have you looked into by-passing Obamacare altogether by using Medishare?

yeah Bama is wrong
the only Platinum plan available to me is 1k/month with 0 deductible, with Vantage
the 700/mo one with 1k ded is a gold plan
*ETA: and Vantage sucks. its provider network is poo here

Bama ATL has convinced me that everyone who got sick prior to the passage of ACA was immediately dropped from insurance and died from lack of medical care. I forget any of that actually happening but apparently it did.
Right?
This nutty broad is playing with my mind.
Would the Mandela Effect designation be applicable here?

That's what I gathered just by looking at premium prices. The only provider worth it's salt is Blue Cross, but then they charge for it.
Very narrow networks does indeed equal lower costs, as well as less choice, longer wait times etc.
Posted on 11/2/17 at 10:44 am to SSpaniel
yeah i only have Blue Cross or Vantage, and Vantage is truly shitty in terms of coverage
it's amazing that i can figure that out, since Bama has assured me i'm too stupid to pick my own plan

I know
I'm just having fun with that lunatic. She creates an alternate reality and no matter how many times we say otherwise she just keeps on with the false narrative.
