How stupid do you have to be to blame this on someone who literally held no political power when your ilk passed it?
just so we're clear, my OP linked to 2 threads from the final 2 years of the Obama admin

Yep, thanks for noting. I need to update my fallback diatribe when this topic arises. In one way or another this whole fiasco has been a vast transfer of wealth with very marginal benefit to a very few people.

It was always intended to lead us closer to single payer. It was designed knowing that it was not sustainable.

Yep. Total distortion of the market. We are going to compassion ourselves to death.

if they didn't know it was unsustainable, then they showed how stupid they are
first, the punitive measures of not buying insurance were so weak that they were almost negligible
second, the demographic who they HAD to have in order to overcharge and subsidize everyone else, is the most technologically savvy group in the history of human kind. they know what they need, can afford, and how to assess risk. i'm not saying they're perfect at this along every step (ie, college and loans) but they're at a higher level than any generation before. assuming they'd be the stupidest generation in the history of mankind (which is what it would take to agree to the shitty deal the ACA offered) is utterly stupid

I didn't have to open the threads. I remember them well.

Wrong. The intention was for the ins market to fail, thereby forcing the single payer option.
They couldnt get sigle payer passed, so they did nextbest thing. Forced a bill through that is the equivalent of a cyanide pill for the ins market. Slowly increasing punishments, forcing ppl to buy coverage they cant afford, much less afford to use.
10 years down the road, ppl are begging for sigle payer. They will say it was unavoidable, we tried, etc.

You supported Trump and the Republicans.
60% of that hike is directly due to their sabotage of the ACA.
And you still refuse to realize that the plan you had pre-ACA was useless in the event that you actually became sick and needed to use it. You weren't paying for a plan then, you were pretending to pay for one.

didn't vote for Trump
have never voted for a Republican for President
i think the only Republican i've ever voted for, for Congress was a Congressman i worked with on a campaign (so I owed him that much)
and if you notice, the previuos 2 threads in this series are pre-Trump

and what about the 500% increase from 2010-2016? Trump too? how? hell how was it even the GOP's fault?

WE ARE BACK TO 2011, BOYS AND GIRLS.

you're wrong. the only difference as a lifetime cap (of $5M i think). well that and not having to pay for stuff i don't need (can you explain why i need to have insurance for pregnancy/OB/maternity?)

Taking you from 'not insurance' to 'actual insurance'.

Weakening the mandate, not allowing for a public option, and constant uncertainty due to their failed lawsuits re: the ACA drove prices for you up. Directly.

And EHBs, and annual caps, and recission, and pre-existing condition exclusions, and community rating, etc.

You may get your wife pregnant / become pregnant yourself, depending on your gender. Additionally, risk pooling means that sometimes you'll pay for care you don't need, just like everyone else. If you have an unexpected pregnancy you'll be thrilled that you have mandated coverage for it.

you can thank Trump for actively trying to sabotage the country's healthcare system
And Congressional Republicans before that.

wrong. i had a deductible, providers in my network i wanted, and full coverage after i met my deductible
i literally had the same lies posted about my plan 6 years ago and posted pics of it on here to shut them up

the biggest jump came before the GOP had the power to do this.

works fine for me. i'd still be using that exact same plan today if it was an option. because it's exactly what i need
are you implying i am too stupid to make my own decisions?

i'm not married and a male, so no

but why does this have to be a legal requirement? why can't i contract with my insurance companies like i did pre-ACA and not be subject to that risk pool? why am i forced, BY LAW (not contract) to pay for things i'll literally never need?
