It’s not just those on the right or moderates either.

Leftist scum and a lot of minorities are buying them up for their “revolution.”

Every time I walk in a gun store it’s full of blacks looking at handguns and ARs. And they’re not the family man looking type either that are looking to protect their family. Mostly thuggish dressed ones in their 20s

Oh BS. The people you have to worry about aren't submitting to a background check in a gun store.

I'm probably in that number, because my last purchase before this year was 30 years ago.

Yep. If your (and my) experience are any indicators that will translate into at least 10 million additional purchases in the near future. Once you open the floodgates you'll want more until you get to a certain point. I certainly don't discourage that. It's good to be prepared. It's fun as hell to shoot. Just a REALLY bad time for buying ammo right now. Hopefully that levels out after the election.

Another first time gun owner here (except for my Dad's WWII rifle and an old pre-war Finnish rifle). Got a 9mm Smith & Wesson lugar last week. Wanted a Glock, but trying to get one, like 9mm ammo has become difficult. In fact, people are just buying up everything that has a trigger on it! Dems are out of touch with reality- we want our guns and especially with their soft stance on the police and protection from rioters!

My wife is 100% in that number.

The downside was that she said many of them had never held a gun before in their life. Looking down the barrel and all sorts of shenanigans.
Please. If you know how to shoot. Please take one of these new owners to the range and show them the ways.

I hope these people stay stocked up so when price goes back down I can load up. I just can’t rationalize paying double what I did a year ago. I would love to have more, but not paying these prices.

That's a whole bunch of people that don't know to handle a firearm.

Just wondering how many of them are leftists and Antifa buying for the first time. Don't underestimate our enemy.

Since many appear to be felons not sure how many of them could legally purchase, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they have some clean recruits doing the buying possibly.

Already have. Buddy just bought his first pistol and we went to the range not long ago. Now all he wants to do is go shoot!

I've always said the cure for anti-gun folks is to take them shooting. I've never seen it fail to covert them.

There appears to be a shift in the demographics of the new gun purchasers as well and that may be good overall for the 2nd Amendment. I find it interesting that a group that represents 13% of the population became 58% of the newly registered owners.
Boom: 5M new gun owners, with 58% black and 40% women

Since January 2020, nearly 5 million Americans purchased guns for the first time, making up nearly 40% of all retail shop gun sales, according to the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), which is the firearm industry trade association.  The FBI's National Instant Background Check System (NICS) shows there were 12.1 million checks between January through July 2020, an increase of 71.7% from "the 7.1 million NSSF-adjusted NICS January through July 2019," reported the association.  "This equates to nearly 5 million first-time gun owners in the first seven months of 2020."

Glock....I have nothing against them. I’d just rather a gun that is more cultured. Give me a 1911.

Local academy hasn’t had more than a handful of ammo on the shelf in months. Pretty staggering honestly
