Yet another reason to not give on a very long list to continue my personal NFL boycott. Been clean since 2016.

NFL stadiums will be a lot like smart cities. It's a slow roll out and a violation of the 4th Amendment. Some of these stadiums are owned by the public - I wonder if we'll see some cities act to prohibit this activity.

TX just won a settlement fine from FB over their facial rec tech, so I wonder what TX AG will do about this. How's it different now??

That settlement with Meta didn't involve public spaces/view.

Your expectation of privacy is much lower in a stadium than in your home on a computer/phone.

Now that can be spun to sound scary, but the same principle is why the public is protected in filming police doing illegal things in public, too (for example). The concept of public view does regulate the state as well.

Also, if you've ever gone into a Walmart or casino, there is a high likelihood your facial data is already in a national database.

So they are not allowing all those heavily made up trannies inside the stadiums ? How about all the blacks they say facial recognition devices have issues with ?

This will be a problem for the NFL in Texas. Texas has a law banning commercial use of facial recognition and Meta just settled a $1.4 billion suit against them by the State of Texas.

We live in a police state and many refuse to recognize it or care.

You've missed Red Zone channel nearly since its inception, mate. That blows my mind.

Here is the website of the firm selected to implement. The claim is this is for secure stadium access, things like enforcing legal age liquor sales and accessing restricted areas like press boxes. Carolina and Cleveland have been part of the pilot going back to last year.

I'm sure it would never be used to ban or remove people they just don't like, such as members of a law firm that defended Trump one time, just as an example.

And then one day, they came for Hetfield, and everyone available to protect him from the government boot previously had something to hide.
