We have a moderate Republican woman in a blue state deciding whether Kav will be the next Supreme Court Justice. Assuming she’s a “yes,” this couldn’t be better for GOP, especially if she stands up there and makes a strong rational argument on behalf of Kav and rule of law in general.

Political theatre is the best theatre.

If everything else holds, it will be 50-50 if Collins votes no and Pence breaks the tie.

Trump only lose Maine by 2.5 points

It’s a purpleish state

Manchin is voting no if Collins does. He’s not going to be the deciding vote in favor of Kav.

Yeah. It’s a split state in terms of electoral votes. He got some I believe.

I think it’s great how it’s come down to this. We’ve gone through such a messy process to reach what I believe is the most fair conclusion - having a middle of the road Republican woman decide whether this Republican picked judge accused of sexual assault should be confirmed to SCOTUS.

Then goodbye to Manchin and good riddance. He'll lose in a landslide.

I am so confused. I thought she supported him since the FBI report came back with nothing new. Is she voting no?

She wouldn’t vote yes today and then NO tomorrow. That’s just stupid.

Doesn’t really matter with Flake being a YES. If Manchin also votes YES today then NO tomorrow he’s toast. Manchin will be a YES.

Trump has given the GOP what they have always wanted, a great chance to control the Supreme Court. They better fricking take advantage of it

It might as well be 100-0 because it really wont matter.

The President is right, we need more Republicans

Putting her vote on the line this soon, I think she goes with a yes vote in order to avoid constant hounding by her republican constituents for the next 20 hrs. or so. They already pissed as is.

Yeah it would make no sense for her to vote yes earlier today and then have a scheduled announcement of her plan to vote no 5 hours later.

There is a logical explanation if she were to do that - she could say he deserves a final vote but I am not voting for him.

Any republican who does not vote to confirm Kavanaugh should have any and all committee appointments removed, and frick them if they don't like it. Let them caucus with the democrats. That's what they are anyway. Make way for some committee members who actually believe in the Constitution, rule of law, and the presumption of innocence.
