Targeted assassinations are carried out in Russia similarly to how they are carried out here in the US only with more bluntness. Characteristically more Russian. Ours are more nuanced, as if tragic accidents met with bad luck.

Very well could be Russian gangster opposition, a false flag op by Russia, or a CIA led op.
Each is as likely and plausible as the other.
CIA, with its history of targeted assassinations and false flags combined with its hard on for Russia, is my bet.
