Excellent.

It'll be just that much easier for us to destroy them when the time comes.

Why restrict that statement to women? How about not sending anyone to die for unnecessary wars period?

During WW2 we had female pilots ferry over bombers and fighters to England,so women can fly. But women should not be on the front lines of combat. I knew some women in the Air Force and Army when I was in the military. On base they can be a disruptive force. New recruits will try and seek out the females for sex. I had to bust 3 new recruits for doing that, even after they were told multiple times that the females were off limits. Also had female NCOs turning tricks while off duty to earn extra cash, had to bust them too. Knew two females in ROTC that were in AirForce ROTC,nice girls, smart but a bit homely. The Colonel had to give them ROTC scholarships and he told us on the side that he wish that he did not have to because after they graduate and get assigned to a duty station most likely they would get pregnant and drop out. That would waste a scholarship that could have gone to a deserving man instead.

Scroll up: I addressed that question on page 3:

As Epaminondas indicates above, only a depraved, barbaric society celebrates perpetual wars of choice. The recruitment of women to fight such wars merely brings that point home.

Unless you’re AF command, I call BS.

Are other countries (Russia and China which are our actual enemies that have an Air Force) worried about quotas and breaking glass ceilings?
I have no issues with women being in the military, but when you potentially risk the effectiveness of our national security doing it, I get worried.

Seems like Uncle Sam wants to lose if that's the case...

Or maybe I just like having an effective military.

You seemed to indicate above that a feminized military is a less effective fighting force. So which is it?

Cultivating a culture through procreation is the very opposite of a Ponzi scheme — it is indeed the mark of all flourishing and vibrant cultures. Perpetuating a culture through immigration is the very definition of a Ponzi scheme and indeed has historically led to the dissolution of cultures that have attempted it.

A "culture" dependent on growth to sustain itself no matter whether it’s organically or via immigration is a Ponzi scheme. The growth stops and the castle crumbles. We have too many damned people as it is and certainly don’t need more.

Are the lights still on since they banned political discussions? The last time I checked in, they were discussing recipes.

One of the solos for the Thunderbirds is a chick. I saw them practicing yesterday over the Alliance Airport, solos flew by belly to belly, not sure if she was upside down or rightside up.

pretty cool to see cruising up I-35

She is in her second year, so she is the lead solo, probably rightside up and did upside down last year.

I say anybody should be able to do what they can do, but the stomach for this will evaporate if there is ever a threat that lots will die. We had air superiority in the ME and didn't lose many pilots.

Yep. All these pilots, male and female, will be flying drones from the control room. The gender won't matter at that point.

We still need to support these pilots, they are fighting for our country. The consensus on this thread sounds like we're rooting against them. I'm not rooting against anyone operating aircraft with my country's flag on it. Period.

Don’t be silly, people are discussing whether or not it’s a good idea. Nobody is rooting against them.

It's fine for women to be in any combat Arms, special forces, aviation, subs etc. as long as they do not change a single standard. If they met the same standard as their male counterpart good on them, go kill. The problem is the changing of standards to make sure they pass, then frick'um send them back to the kitchen!

The fruit of human ingenuity best flourishes in free and procreative cultures. Yet a Malthusian culture which rejects fruitful procreation and promotes permanent war, euthanasia and abortion is a culture of death and decay.

The Overpopulation Hoax

quote:

...The entire premise behind population control is based on the faulty logic that humans are not valuable resources. The fact of business is that humans are what the late Julian L. Simon called the ultimate resource. That fact becomes apparent by pondering this question: Why is it that Gen. George Washington did not have cellphones to communicate with his troops and rocket launchers to sink British ships anchored in New York Harbor? Surely, all of the physical resources — such as aluminum alloys, copper, iron ore and chemical propellants — necessary to build cellphones and rocket launchers were around during Washington’s time.

In fact, they were around at the time of the cave man. There is only one answer for why cellphones, rocket launchers and millions of other things are around today but were not around yesteryear. The growth in human knowledge, human ingenuity, job specialization and trade led to industrialization, which, coupled with personal liberty and private property rights, made it possible. Human beings are valuable resources, and the more we have of them the better.

The greatest threat to mankind’s prosperity is government, not population growth. For example, Zimbabwe was agriculturally rich but, with government interference, was reduced to the brink of mass starvation. Any country faced with massive government interference can be brought to starvation. Blaming poverty on overpopulation not only lets governments off the hook but also encourages the enactment of harmful, inhumane policies.

Today’s poverty has little to do with overpopulation. The most commonly held characteristics of non-poor countries are greater personal liberty, private property rights, the rule of law and an economic system closer to capitalism than to communism. That’s the recipe for prosperity.

That still wouldn’t erase the issues caused by sex and close quarters, which is why letting gays serve was also a bad idea. People need to stop viewing the military as a jobs program that exists to provide equal access.
