I doubt it, and I'm not sure they really can.

Yeah, he really does. I don’t think he can count higher than 20.

The fbi said the informant told them the documents would be in the safe and that’s what they put in the affidavit. After the raid they admitted nothing of interest was found in the safe. Do you need me to connect the dots for you?

That doesn't make it a "fraud." If I told you the knife was in the knife drawer but it was found in the fork drawer, is that a fraud? The "fraudulent" thing is spin, not truth.

It's on Trump's legal team now. Does he release the warrant?

The warrant won't tell us anything we don't already know.

Seems like it's probably a red herring to me.

Has nothing to do really with how overstepping of all norms this whole thing is.

In fact, if I had to venture a guess, I would say it is probably more an attempt to try to pass this off as just completely routine.

I'm sure the DOJ would love for Trump's lawyers to decide it's in his interest to oppose the unsealing. Would not at all be surprised if they suspect that's a possibility and want those optics.

Really? Who from the FBI or the DOJ said, "The warrant was based on fraud."

It has been stated that an "informant" told them there were classified documents in a safe. There was nothing in the safe.

They're telling you it was based on fraud without saying exactly that, and you're just swallowing it whole.

Ipso facto, the informant was wrong.

being wrong =/= fraud

ETA: I hate the feds and think this was horseshite, but there's a "good faith" safe harbor for these things and the mere fact the informant relied upon was wrong would not make the search invalid.

Now, if the feds KNEW the informant was full of shite before they went to the judge for the warrant, that's another story.

I think its also interesting that they waited until Trump was gone, during the summer shut-down season where the club was barely staffed to go in there.

Also interesting that they wouldnt allow Trump counsel to supervise the search, wouldnt produce a warrant, and demanded security cameras be turned off.

They just wanted to go in there and dig until they found something...anything they could dq him with. Seriously, have you met a liberal yet that is not 100% convinced that Trump is an arch-criminal, and just one more investigation will blow the case wide open? I havent.

Here’s my issue with all of this

Trump knows what they were looking for. If he wanted, he could release the info and if it was in his best interest- he would do just that.
Clearly it’s not in his best interest to do so. That’s not good.

The other thing is- the Justice dept knew exactly what they wanted and must have had a real good idea where to find it. They could not afford to have egg on their face.

I don’t see this ending well for Trump.

you know this is bullshite. you know this is all political and extremely dangerous for everyone's future. this is soviet union level shite. stop defending it.

We don't know that.

Imagine you're wrong. What if Trump had access to technical specs for national defense equipment - and what if he were trying to sell it?

Let me be clear: I'm not accusing Trump of that. I'm just saying we don't know much about what happened or why.

DoJ either has some serious info or they made a massive mistake. We'll see over the next few days as the warrant is unsealed.

It really doesn't matter at this point. Judicial Watch started the ball rolling.

Right now the judge has to weight Judicial Watch's right to know versus the FBI's position then make a decision on how much of the warrant is unsealed.

If sufficient information does not get released then Trump can pursue another FOIA. But there is no advantage to Trump pursuing another FOIA. If charges are brought up against Trump for anything concerning this raid then I have to assume his legal defense has a right to the entire sealed warrant.

Correct. Being wrong is only on the way to fraud. It’s not the complete picture.
