Affordability

Its becoming clear the dems/socialists are running on making things more affordable and more taxes on the most wealthy. Meanwhile Trump can't admit we are having an affordability crisis, in fact he constantly harps on how great we have it. There will be hell to pay if he doesn't turn this around and start admitting there is a problem . Do that and then start telling us how it will be fixed. You can't tell the American people everything is fine when middle and lower class struggles.

Honestly I see middle class folks driving new cars every day so it seems everything is just fine.

Rich Boomer here, everything is just fine and dandy, I got mine.
Besides, can't see any of that crap from my house.

Yeah it's crazy how many I see too.. these are people i know that can't afford it. I don't get it. I know others though that are struggling more than ever but not because they are in debt from buying nice new cars. It's because grocery in twice the cost as before covid and car/house repairs,, things like HVAC units are 55% higher than before covid.

Making things more affordable for the poor. Making it less affordable for the middle class because, no matter what the Dems. scream, the middle class will also be taxed to death, in order to pay for government controlled, programs.

Yeah, that messaging totally bombed for the Democrats in 2024.

tell me specifically boy what can't you afford and why do you think you can't afford it. reflect back on the life you've led and the things you could have done differently that may have led to better outcomes for your self. the middle class pay's no income tax. 63% of american's pay no income tax how can we make life more affordable for people that contribute nothing?
you think long and hard about that boy.

Yes, bc you personally have witnessed what you perceived to be middle class people driving new cars so therefore there has been no inflation over the last 6 years and there is no affordability crisis

Trump has spoken about the lack of housing affordability and signed an EO to limit the ability of large investment companies to suck up house inventory. I wish he would do more, though, like removing government from the higher ed loan industry, which is sapping the ability of younger generations from fully participating in the economy and building wealth.

Wages have not kept pace with inflation that spiked under Biden. WTF were those guys thinking following the WEF agenda??? Europe is so screwed .
Times are challenging, but not yet as tough as in the late seventies… the Carter years. What is difficult to understand is how folks continue to overspend their revolving debt limits. The numbers are brutal.

quote:Over the past 3 decades or so, the American people have been literally taught to be stupid, beginning with their first exposure in kindergarten. The American Teacher's Unions and similar communist sympathizers successfully put strategies in place discouraging critical thinking, intellectual analysis, etc. US students are taught what to think, not how to think.
You can't tell the American people everything is fine when middle and lower class struggles.
Fast-forward to 2026. Those educational products are now adults, some in their late 40s. They are better off in inflation-adjusted financial terms than in 2024, but the improvement is modest. Without the ability to critically analyze why things are the way that they are, those individuals rely on emotions and what they are told, just as they were trained in school.
So they "feel" worse off because prices remain much higher than they were before Bidenflation surged costs through the roof. But there is no intellectual consideration or interest as to actual facts or derivation of affordability issues. As such, emotionality and feelings seem to guide those Americans straight back to the identical policies which led to the "affordability crisis" in the first place. It is a sad example of "Those who don't learn from history, are doomed to repeat it."
It is also telling that such an attitude permeates posts even on this board.

Let’s be fair, it’s been rising since coming off the gold standard. Wages just haven’t kept up. Now a guy making more than his father could potentially be saving less as costs have always increased yet salaries trickles up.

i'll explain it to you boy, you see since the middle class no longer pay income tax they have an inflated sense of disposable income and they do stupid schit like buying cars they can't afford. debt is the reason that 63% of merican's n' such can't cover an unexpected $500 expense.
that's not the gubberments fault the average american is an idiot.

People don’t realize how good they have it living in the USA.
The middle and lower class isn’t struggling. They live like kings compared to other countries.

Real (inflation adjusted) income is 140% of what it was 30 years ago. Real income is up since Trump took office.
By comparison, real income was down during most of Obama's two terms, and most of Biden's term. Yet those are the policies many Americans are angling to return to. It is simply inexplicable.

This is what President Trump does not want. You don’t talk about things being bad when you’re in power. That’s just effing stupid.
