But, in the end, the buck stopped with Acosta. The "deal" CLEARLY stunk to high heaven and Acosta knew it. This is beyond debate. I have a family friend that I've known since middle school who was elected to the US House a few terms back and served a couple of terms. He'd never run for any office, ever, so he was a complete unknown on the political scene. He said they throw the kitchen sink at you the minute you set foot in DC; supermodel hookers, drugs, you name it. And he was a completely unknown freshman.
