this is pretty fricked up. Does the Catholic church have no shame? 3000 pedophiles over the last 70 years??? We're well beyond a few bad apples here.

When people say they dislike Christianity 9 times out of 10 they just really dislike Catholicism.

I like christians. Plenty of them are great, they don't bother me and they don't expect me to believe what they believe. There are specific people of the faith that take it too far and try to force their religion on others or use religion to justify their own shittiness. I don't like those people

I wonder how many have been aborted during this time period ? The reporters at NPR seem euphoric when they are supporting Planned Parenthood. Is there no conscience on their part for so many lives being terminated by these savages ?

But make no mistake, this is disgusting. I've noticed, anecdotally, that suspected gays from deeply religious, Catholic families have an affinity towards entering the clergy. I'll never not believe that that plays a role in all of this degeneracy.

Years ago, the Catholic Church had a choice to make - either allow priest to marry or ignore the thousands of pedophile priests and move them around when they were caught. They chose the latter.

I get closer to God every day I grow older but I'm also pushed further away from church every day. The hypocrisy is undeniable. I read my Bible virtually every day but I don't see a time that I'll go into a church for the considerable future.

The worst part about this is the number of people who allow themselves to believe the Catholic Church is why they have turned away from Christ. The Catholic Church should be held to account, but the actions of others have no bearing on your eternal soul.

And of course this is true, it makes complete sense. Celibacy logically would appeal predominantly to people with serious sexuality issues. Seems that allowing priests to be married and allowing married people to become priests would help.
