Wow Another Democrat hoax
I'm Shocked

Well that puts that narrative to bed.

Did they ever claim a direct call was made?
I thought they were just using the FCC Chairman's remarks on a podcast as a veiled threat to take Kimmel off the air?

Democrats refuse to understand they had been looking for a way to get rid of his underperforming arse and his mouth handed them the reason. It’s a money thing but they swear Trump made a call and got little Jimmy canned.

They won’t stop until they are all sued for slander and libel.

This is disingenous. Carr made public comments that he knew carried great weight with Nexstar and Sinclair Jr.

I never saw the actual comments, just references to it.

Well since the WSJ cannot quote what Kimmel actually said without spinning it, you probably need to look somewhere else.

quote:It's because they know he was over the line, they were trying to negotiate a new contract, the numbers weren't good, Kimmel's agent was likely taking the stance that "Jimmy wants this much of a raise in his contract. If he walks, Disney is going to have to deal with the loss of viewers and blowback."

Then Kimmel told them he was bigger than the network and they couldn't fire him. He would straighten everything out by going on live and "explaining why MAGA is to blame". They didn't blink. And.... he is likely still being paid and under an NDA and that includes any proven proxies he might have promoting a divisive message.
* Noted that he hasn't said a thing, yet.

Yeah, we know. At least those of us that pay attention knew.

Everything gov says carries weight. It doesn't take away the right to say it.
ABC had the right legally to ignore it and or use it for their own financial benefit.
Guess what they picked.

Nexstar forced their hand. As Carr knew they would. frick Kimmel and frick ABC but those comments were inappropriate.

Of course they didn't. But the lie will be perpetuated.
ABC needs to come clean about what they did. That is unless they want to obfuscate.

He cheered and ridiculed ROSANNE and conservatives when they were canceled, now he is crying.
F*** him and people supporting him.

same principle then, correct? People intentionally misconstrued this fact to make it look like Trump somehow indirectly fired Kimmel.

I was under the impression by the yelping tools on the left that FCC called Sinclair which is the big boss.
Regardless, yet another lulz moment dumping on the left and their lies.

The FCC pressure (however direct or indirect it may have been) was probably felt more by Nexstar and Sinclair, along with others, than ABC/Disney directly. This highlights the biggest issue in all of this, an issue that Kimmel isn't even tangentially related to.
The massive Nexstar deal to buy Tegna, and Sinclair's various deals in the works are wholly dependent upon FCC approval. Neither want to rock their respective boats, so they're more susceptible to influence from the FCC. What we are witnessing is a continued consolidation of media into the hands of a smaller and smaller few. The FCC, under the direction of the Trump administration, is actively trying to change rules that allows these media deals to happen much easier, facilitating a much easier path to that media consolidation.
This is not a good thing in the long run. Couple the efforts to change the rules and the growing willingness to use the sway of the FCC to direct business decisions within the media, and you can see the problem. Maybe it isn't viewed as problematic when your team has the ball and momentum, but if you're distrusting of the "MSM" in its current state, fewer players in that game shouldn't do much to alleviate your concern. Going forward, it will be much easier to manipulate media and control messaging if this course continues, and this is supposed to be something MAGA is fighting against.
