ABA says 1/3 of seminar panelists must be diverse. FL says no credit for ABA seminars.

Micromanaged lgbtqia+ affirmative action by the American Bar Association.
quote:

ABA policy says CLE programs with three or more panelists, including the moderator, must have at least one member from a diverse group. Programs with five to eight panelists must have at least two diverse members, and programs with nine or more panelists must have at least three diverse members.

Does it really matter the race of 3 panelists discussing intellectual property or tax developments with 20 lawyers in the audience of a breakout session?

Florida's Supreme Court is now refusing to provide continuation credit for future ABA programs, following FL law that prohibits quotas. ABA will probably respond by cancelling meetings in Florida. The country becomes more divided by the day.

ABA Journal article

eta:
If I'm attending a session with 3 white guys presenting I'll probably spend at least some of my attention trying to figure out which one is gay, bi or 1/8 POC to meet the quota.

This doesn't even make sense

How can an individual be identified as "diverse"

I wish Florida could take in Georgia below the fall line. I don’t want to live in Abrams’ Georgia

Quotas do nothing but make everyone focused more on skin color rather than capability, and embrazen the perception that POC lack ability. It hurts POCs more than it does white people. It's terrible.

I identify as a handicapped, gay, black transfemale veteran of three foreign wars with a PhD in International Law from Harvard. Is that diverse enough for them?

Also, if they try to bring up that I don't actually have any of those qualifications then they are racist, homophobic, sexist, transphobic, bigoted, anti-handicapped AND means they stand against the fine men and women who serve this country!

That's how it's done these days, right?

Hope it's the same profession that will straighten out election fraud, but I am second guessing now
