I might have picked the wrong time to try and stop swearing both irl and online. Things like this perturb me.

Sounds like a mighty fine lawsuit in the making though. And maybe my life change timing was appropriate, as this is only going to get worse.

I'm 51 and ** I ** don't want to take it at this point. Our daughter has been ** strongly ** encouraged to NOT take it but she can make her own decisions.

Is she gonna be on the hook if she catches Covid and the restaurant has to shut down and the property disinfected?

From your link:

It is important to know that no study to date has specifically evaluated the coronavirus vaccine in pregnant and lactating women, though there have been a few pregnant women who were inadvertently enrolled in the vaccine trials. Preliminary developmental and reproductive toxicity studies do not indicate any adverse effects on reproduction or fetal development.

Meaning it hasn't even been studied yet. If I was married I'd tell her not to get it too.

She ain't pregnant. So now we're just using hypotheticals?

I was responding to the statement that it hasn't been "approved" and it has.

Tricky waters here, you cant fire someone for being pregnant either. Which is essentially what they are doing.

In New York, I am pretty sure she would win.

But probably just easier for her to find another job as a waitress willing to work.

This could result in an interesting precedent if it goes to court.

Except if the vaccine isn’t cleared for pregnant women and she is pregnant, she would qualify for an exception.
What if it is cleared and she isn't pregnant?

Do they want to be on the hook for any birth defects the kid has if she takes the vaccine?

Why would the restaurant be on the hook for this? This would be her choice.

Oh,there's gonna be a multitude of court cases

What's gonna happen when sporting venues re open at full capacity?

They gonna require some type of vaccination ID or approval? What about their workers? What about flight attendants?

I'm sure lots of attorneys are licking their chops.

She doesn't deserve to be fired. She has the right to say yes or no to a vaccine. That should never be led to a termination.

She hasn't been refused that right.

Also, the restaurant has the same right to require their employees to be vaccinated.

They're not firing her for being pregnant.

She's not even pregnant

No one is forcing her to get the vaccine.

She has, in fact, chosen not to get the vaccine, thus proving it is her body and her choice.

But she's being fired. Can you imagine firing someone for getting an abortion? I can't. Would never fly.
