This is what the EU has brought Europe.
A self loathing culture that wants to breed western civilization out of existence.

I wonder if any of that stuff would have happened if Netflix and social media had been around at the time.
Without the easy comforts and distractions of the 21st century, we might already be in openly crazy times right now, like not being able to be out after dark and having walls around towns.

You see the same stuff on social media with the anti-vaxxer stuff and flat Earth theory and political conspiracies, etc. all of those things are people just trying to latch onto belief systems and groups of people so they feel like they're a part of something

One of the worst things about the institution of the welfare state is that it ultimately eroded the charity that was a fundamental part of Western/Christian culture.
Just like substituting the government for the father's role led to absentee "fathers", so has the welfare state led to Christians deemphasizing the personal responsibility for doing the corporal works of mercy.

Absolutely. My point was that it being online may keep it contained to some extent and that having endless entertainment options also keeps things from spilling violently into the street.
It's easy to see what I'm talking about in the example of pornography. What would the streets be like in the age of the incel if pornography wasn't available? I'm sure the incel phenomenon would be lessened if men didn't have porn, but there have been broader cultural changes in the last generation that would have created a surplus of single men either way.
Regarding your point about people latching onto anything in order to feel a part of something, it's absolutely true, and if you want to see the key difference between late modernity and everything that came before, that's where you need to look.

I've seen it all my life, going to Dead shows in high school, burning man stuff as an adult, and every liberal democrat dominated political or social activity I've experienced in between.
That's the goal of the filth culture, to destroy everything sacred or beautiful or distinct and to make people believe that nothing has meaning. Once all of it is destroyed, a person will tolerate anything, desperately looking for meaning or purpose, and those things are provided by the same people who destroyed their beliefs.
This is where a lot of people are after decades of garbage culture.

Ahhh. Growing up in the 60's and 70's. fricked up cults might have been on the rise but us kids had a lot of freedom. We could pretty much go wherever the frick we wanted. That is until the street lights came on.

This ad was created to appeal to the People of the Soy.
