Of course these are individual moments that some will argue aren’t really representative of the time. Well, I lived it. It was everywhere without America-hating protesters involved. Compare it to anything you’ve seen in 2026.

That was the year I graduated from high school.
We made a much bigger deal of it back then.

I remember it like yesterday.

I still have a roll of those quarters.

Honestly, it was a remarkable nationwide celebration that lasted most of the year but really peaked over the 4th of July weekend.

It was especially big for all the states that were a part of the Original Thirteen Colonies.

I was young, but remember it. Everything... every. single. thing. was about the bicentennial and American pride.

Basically NOBODY liked Gerald Ford as President but, by the same token, nobody thought whoever was President had anything to do with why we would want to celebrate such a thing.

That is scary.
I'm literally shaking.
I need a safe space devoid of all that red white and blue patriotism.

I was nine years old, and I also remember it that way.

Some car companies came out with a bicentennial logo on the new car. That didn't age well.

I used to love these quarters when they came out. It was such a great time back then... less tribalism, less secularism, we were still mostly united.

No one party did this to us, unless it's called the uni-party.

I remember as a junior in high school not being able to go to Florida with my friends because of the expected violence in cities and cops as my father was a cop. Some things never change with democrats

there's blame on both sides, but the majority of blame overwhelmingly lies on the left. i dont see how anyone could make a logical argument against that. tons of people on the left openly literally hate their country and its entire history.
