$418K vs $185K: house price in Biden country vs Trump country

From bing
For reference:
“According to the 2020 US Presidential Election Map By County & Vote Share, Biden won 477 counties, while Trump won 2,497 counties.”
quote:
That's an interesting question. I can try to estimate the median house price in counties that voted for Biden vs counties that voted for Trump in 2020, based on the data from my predefined internal tools. However, please note that this is not a definitive answer, as there may be other factors that affect the housing market and the voting behavior of the residents.
The results are as follows:
- The average median home price for the counties that voted for Biden was **$418,344**.
- The average median home price for the counties that voted for Trump was **$184,788**.
This means that, on average, the counties that voted for Biden had a median home price that was **2.26 times** higher than the counties that voted for Trump.
Of course, this does not imply a causal relationship between the home price and the vote choice, as there may be other confounding variables that influence both. For example, the counties that voted for Biden may also have higher population density, income, education, diversity, and urbanization, which could affect both the housing market and the political preferences of the residents. Moreover, the home price is only one aspect of the housing affordability, which also depends on the income, mortgage rates, taxes, and other expenses of the homeowners.
Therefore, while this estimate may provide some insight into the possible correlation between the home price and the vote choice, it does not explain the underlying reasons or motivations of the voters. To answer that question, one would need to conduct a more comprehensive and rigorous analysis of the socio-economic and demographic factors that shape the political behavior of the American electorate.

Houses are more expensive in big metro areas than they are in rural areas. Not too surprising, although the gap might surprise some people.

So the demand for houses in Trump country is exceedingly lower than the demand for houses in Biden country.
Interesting point. Thank you for sharing.

Dems are the party of rich people.

Libs and communists live in overcrowded coastal urban areas.
Incidentally, it explains why they buy into global warming and worry about sea level rise.

The point of publishing statistics like this is to propagate the narrative that Trump supporters are poor, uneducated, unsophisticated whites.
Urban leftist-progressives are in constant need of reassurance that they are smarter and more sophisticated than their rural, conservative counterparts. This has been true in the US since the battles over statehood and slavery.
And if one considers a bit of history beyond that, it has been a narrative of urban dwellers presented in medieval fairy tales, the Romans' view of the provinces, and probably civilizations long before those. It's even an element of the Hunger Games. City folk think country folk are dumb hicks.
It's a tired trope, but leftists wrap it around themselves like a warm blanket on a cold day.

I meant it more as they claim “housing crisis” when it’s more a “demand/choice” crisis.
That the issues young liberals face are more self-inflicted and localized.
Like Chicago/NYC didn’t have a problem with illegal immigrants until the illegal immigrants showed up in their cities.
It’s why we have a “media” problem.
50% of the US population is crowded into 5% of counties.
Those same crowded areas are highly liberal due to the localized problems caused by overcrowding, and the need for support services based on those localized problems.
Major market media outlets, cater stories to their local populations (things they will click on).

So real estate in places like coastal Cali and Manhattan are way more expensive than the rural areas. Glad we have this study to educate us about that.

The day after President Trump won Iowa, the WSJ of all places wrote in a news column, not editorial, that Trump’s Iowa voters were more white, rural, and less educated than voters in other states. In other words, deplorables.
The demorat party, their minions, media, and elites hate and disrespect us. Always have, always will.
The WSJ is a rag and shell of its former self.

White Leftists and white "moderate Democrats" aside from D minorities live in their gated community bubble and more affluent areas. Even the ones that are lower income still try to get away from the hood. They work in offices in areas with security, and police presence.
If hey worked jobs in urban areas and had more exposure to the "hood" their attitudes would be far more nuanced about wokeness and crime and "equality".
I'm fortunate to live in a nice area but I own and owned properties in some of the crappiest areas around because that's how zoning works- tow yards, scrap yards, and warehouses often neighbor some of the poorest neighborhoods, so you get a full blown preview of the ghetto and issues associated with it.

Democrats aren’t for the working class.
It’s legit celebrities, didn’t pay for their education women, and people living off the government.

Our media has always been biased, newspapers openly stated what political party they belonged to.

Are they factoring in the housing projects to the average prices?

Now compare the incomes of people in Blue counties versus Red counties.

Pretty simple there is less available space in cities which just so happen to be liberal shite holes for the most part and this in turn drives prices up. Supply and demand.
