3rd party: are you willing to lose for a while?

With the strong possibility of a 3rd party entering the fray in the near future, some questions need to be asked of Conservatives.
If you decide to vote 3rd party:
1. Are you willing to let the Dems win, while fracturing the Conservative vote with the Republicans? At least in the beginning?
2. How long are you willing to take losses, if the 3rd party continues to grow?
3. How many 2-year election cycles do you think it would take for a 3rd party to be competitive?

I was independent before Trump, and I am now independent again. If Trump starts a new party, I would have to see how things go before I join.

I have no confidence that I will ever see anything near conservative in the WH, Senate or House in my lifetime. I'm OK. I hate it for my granddaughter.
