I'm kind of new to paying attention to the RNC (I'm 21.) Does unfavorable crowd reaction help or hurt? I remember seeing a clip of Reagan yelling at kids to shut up. Pretty great.

TR's Faux-gressive? You think the Taft name still holds weight in Ohio?
I can see how Barry Goldwater might still be relevant with the recent resurgence of the libertarian movement.

Taft is legendary in that state, especially Robert.

IIRC, during the 2012 conventions the media was talking about how both parties have every detail planned out and scripted so hostile crowd isn't a problem.

Dallas

I don't see anything to gain by having it in Dallas.

I dislike the state of Ohio, but Columbus almost seems like the natural top choice. Denver could be a good second choice.

Las Vegas has to much potential for something to go wrong with the amount of vice in that city.

For IBFreeman's sake I hope they decide to make the RNC convention, "Diehard IV - The RNC Convention", convene and film in our beloved NO, and get some Jindal film credits.

Columbus (2.1 million) is the largest and nicest city in Ohio without question. Its metro area is growing fast as. Its the state capital so it has political weight. Columbus will not only be the biggest city in Ohio, but the largest metro in the state in the near future. Columbus has a great blend of Conservative, Moderate and Liberal voters. If the R's are smart, they choose Columbus! Columbus wants this convention desperately!

Yeah. As much as I selfishly want it in Dallas, Columbus is the best choice.

1.Columbus
2.Denver

Either would be a good choice IMHO.

Would having it in Columbus really make a difference in Ohio? The 2012 one in Florida certainly didn't help.

Yes, it really would! There is a reason why during the last election, Obama and Romney made more campaign stops to Columbus and Central Ohio then any other place in the nation. Getting the vote out in Central Ohio is key to winning the state. Cincy goes Republican, Cleveland goes Democrat and Columbus is up in the air. Columbus could make an argument for being the political captial of the world. The Republican part would be wise to pick Columbus!

republicans should not have it in denver. You know they would catch some of those guys smoking pot, and BOOM.

Colombus seems the natural fit, but is it big enough?

Denver or Columbus

What kind of convention center is in Columbus? I didn't know it was big enough.
