If you’re a sick frick and your moral compass says So.

But that would be an example of where murder is acceptable

When I’m aggravated or going through shite and all someone does is throw bible verses and shite at me, it feels like a cop out by the friend who really doesn’t care, but wants to look like it on the surface.

It's funny how bad you hate communism, yet you share such a very important belief structure

Excuse me? You judged the whole Catholic faith in your post.
I did not judge you one bit, I just asked who gave gave your Bible it’s authority?

I am fearful for that part of society who don't rape or murder people solely because a fictional book says they shouldn't. Those people are too easily motivated to do evil if they believe the orders came from the flying spaghetti monster they worship.

This is bullshite.

There is no such thing as absolute morality. Things like rape, theft, and murder are not anymore "right" or "wrong" than altruism. However, there is no question that certain species (like ants, bees, orcas, wolves, humans, among others) are social and better off working together toward common goals. For this to happen with a species as complex as humans, we need a basic foundation of laws or guidelines. These range from things as serious as homicide to things as insignificant as the appropriate speed limit of a rural two-lane road. There's no way we would be able to function as a productive society without some kind of structure.

This is the basis for what we call morality, and it is constantly evolving. It wasn't but about 50 years ago that blacks couldn't vote and only about 150 years ago that they were held as slaves. About 100 years ago women couldn't vote. In 100 years there will be something we do today that society will find "wrong," barbaric or disgusting.

Contrary to what a lot of people think, the world is a helluva lot more civilized place than it used to be and it's not because of God or the Bible. It's because society continues to mature.

From the fundamental tenets of civilization is where we find our morality. It has been ingrained in us since birth that we shouldn't do certain things because they transgress against society. We can dress them up in religion, but we would still need those tenets with or without God.

Your previous question and current accusation infers that I judged the catholic faith as lacking. I make no judgement, but the word of God judges only and that is where the authority comes from. Now answer my questions. Tell me in the word of God where any of the following doctrines and practices come from in the bible and at what point were they instituted and by who's authority?

Catholic icons, the Rosary, transubstantiation, infallibility of the pope, catholic doctrine superceeding biblical doctrine, priest having authority to forgive sins, forbidding to marry, etc.

Well of course you don’t because I’m sure Christianity upsets you. The OP is right and I know this because I’ve been where is he at before. I have the lost the feeling he has right now because I got away from staying plugged in and reading the Bible. I’m still a believer 100%, I just don’t have that undeniable peace he has right now that can only be found through Christ. I envy him right now because when you are in the place he’s in nothing really bothers you and you have total peace. Having a relationship with God is like any other relationship, you have to work it in order for it to work.

Just remember, when you die, you will return to the state of nothingness that you were prebirth.

There is no afterlife.

There is no heaven.

There is no hell.

We are born. We live. We die. The world moves on.

You grasp to this belief of a higher god because you want there to be meaning in your life. You want there to be a greater cause. A reason for being.

I just hope that you live your life to the fullest. It’s the only one you have. It’s everything you have. It’s everything you’ll be. If believing in god gives you peace, then have at it. We will feed the worms together, brother.

This ^^^^ is an example of extreme faith. I can see how people rest easier having faith they won’t be accountable for their lives.

Accountable for what? I swear some Christians are downright giddy about the prospect of their enemies supposedly roasting in Hell for eternity.

A lot of hardcore Christians remind me of "#6" in this scene of The Devil's Advocate:

Don’t put your faith and hope in that friend. That’s why it’s about a personal relationship with Jesus. Nobody else can fulfill you no matter how much they care.

No matter what you believe one thing is for sure we are not alone and there are things that happen that science cannot explain.
