Kirk James Merritt is a 5’11 200lb junior Wr/Rb at Destrehan High School. He runs the forty in 4.4 secs (Tulane camp) and he has a 41.7 inch vertical (Nike SPARQ Combine). He can bench press 225lbs ten times, squat 475lbs, power clean 300lbs and dead lift 550lbs. Last year he played with Newman and had over 900 combined yards rushing and receiving. When he was 10, 11 & 12 years old, he was the fastest kid in the nation in his age group (AAU Junior Olympics). Please see attached links

Are you his father, brother, cousin, best friend?
How well do you know him? Is he a good kid, who is recruiting him right now? Has he heard from LSU?

why did his vertical drop 11 inches just from the title of this thread to the body?

You want to get him from under the Radar tell him to say he wants to attend LSU and will even walk on if he needs to do that and soon he will be on the Radar.

Did you click on the links? The 52 inch wasn't a true "vertical" in combine terms it was a jump up to a 52 inch platform.

Sounds like your son is one heck of an athlete at a solid football school as well. Hope he keeps improving and maybe we can see him in that purple & gold one day

Is that how most schools measure a vertical? Thats not how we used to do it. Seems harder that way

Good luck man !! I like this kind of stuff. Even though Im faster and can jump higher than your kid, he appears to be a great athlete.

I knew kirk was looking to transfer, didn't think Destrehan was one of the main players. Good athlete. Maybe he can play with Kendall again in 2 years.
