I really think we have a legitimate chance on Nkemdiche...

So all the attitude and conjecture I've been getting lately is that RN is Bama bound. With all the things we know about his high school coach blahh blahh blah I would normally agree because Bama is rolling in it right now with top guys. But... I have watched these two fairly recent videos and something tells me LSU is the one in RN mind..
Watch his facial expression when he talks about LSU compared to Bama...(the video is on the front page bottom right in the GeauxTigerNation video playlist)
ESPN GeauxTigerNation
I know we have exhausted the 3-4 4-3 crap, but he sites a specific example of a Bama player and his words were.."uh-oh"...
Bleacher Report: Nkemdiche talk defensive scheme
Call me optimistic but I think we really can get this guy. I say, Les keep going balls out for this dude. A class with RN and RSJ would be bangin'.

I agree and I hope you are right.

He fits the Chavis defense much better than the Saban defense imo.

I just looked at the second video...what I got from it was this...if he wants to play DE he is coming to LSU...if he wants to play "jack"LB he is going to bama..the fact that Upshaw slipped in the draft helped us....I truly believe on signing day we will have a lot of huge commitments...can't wait!

If LSU gets RN and RSJ that would be a million dancing bananas

Defensive Ends command some of the bigger contracts in the NFL. I keep wondering why people are talking about him wanting to play LB at Bama for NFL money reasons. Mario Edwards keeps food on the table... I would hammer that shite home if I were recruiting him.

Remember the breakdowns of the Lache Seastrunk video at our camp? This one means the same thing. Nothing. I love you guys optimism and will never fault you for it because it's much better than the negativity this board has at times but I just don't have the same feeling you guys have.

Jack Linebacker is the best recruiting sales pitch since the "next Percy Harvin" crap Billy Gonzales used to pull.

I'm with you on that one.
I love the positivity from the board, but it seems like most of the love will be in vain. I hope something changes, but all the signs are pointing to him going elsewhere.
'm getting the vibe that Georgia is out of the running. In the first video, it seemed he was only giving Georgia some love was because he was talking to a Georgia guy.
Dude says in the second video, the scheme would be a heavy factor in who he chooses out of his top schools. That would leave-us, Bama, Miss St., Ole Miss, Clemson. Out of those listed, the only one that runs a different scheme is Bama, right?
Seems like he already made his mind up and is just playing the game.
I hope the feeling is wrong and he comes here though.

Nkemdiche would be a monster in our system. Also DE is the second highest paying position in the NFL behind QB, so there's that for him to think about.

The staff feels quite confident about RN based on their interaction with him.

I keep seeing this, but why? Line Backers don't get paid like Defensive ends???

Jack Linebacker sounds cool.

considering he will likely gain weight and be a possible DT option or at least be flexible to move down in a 4 pt stance makes it very unlikely that he will be a consideration at the Jack position.
I guess he could be sold by Bama on the fact that he can play on the d-line as a tackle that moves into gaps but most 3-4 down linemen are used to occupy blocks so that the linebackers can make all the tackles. Its a selfless position but will not bring him the big bucks in the NFL. See Albert Haynesworth and the issues he had while playing in the 3-4 for Washington.
Considering the recent draft success LSU has had with D linemen, I believe he will be leaning our way.

psst- Saban has no intention of playing him at LB, the jack linebacker bullshite is just to get him on campus
carry on

RN will not play DT no matter college he goes to... Too special of an athlete to be moved inside
