Why does everyone say this? If this was the case Bama would sign nothing but 5* players.
But to name a couple Ruben Randle and Kiki Mingo. I don't follow recruiting very close I'm sure others can list more.

Why do you guys feel he us too big for OLB, but he is not already bigger than both your DEs? Upshaw played OLB at 272 last year and he is not close to the athlete as Rob.
If he went to LSU he would be a DT. At Bama he can play Jack,DE, and on the inside in Bamas four man front.
3-4 vs 4-3 is overblown. Mingo plays in a 4-3, but will be one of the 1st players drafted to a 3-4 team.

Saban is going to put him at DE in a shitty 3-4 Nkemdiche is a Mario Willams Pierre-Paul fusion that is perfect for the 4-3.

In an NFL 4-3 he's perfect. Chavis would move him inside to DT in LSUs 4-3. He is has 20lbs on both of your DEs already and they are going into their 4th yr in a college strength program. Why the double standard?
He doesnt seem to fit at DE at LSU.
If he wants to stay on the outside he will stay around 275. At that weight he is much similar to upshaw than Mingo or Sam.

I actually don't care for Saban one bit and will be happy when Bama gets a new coach. So you don't know what you're talkin bout.
How does he fit better as an LSU DE when Bama LBers have been Bigger than LSU DEs recently.
Both Mingo and Sam have 4yrs on him and He already weighs 20 more lbs than either one.
He has a better shot at being a Jack at Bama than DE at LSU based on the size of the most recent players at those positions for each school.

I call BS on this. His speed not size will make him a DE. We don't put fast frickers on the inside. We put them in a place we can put pressure on the QB.

Unless you are Nick Saban. Shorty is that you???

Tyson Jackson was 265 coming out of high school and played DE with nothing close to RN's speed and athleticism..

Do not listen to the 'Dore. He is a self-proclaimed Alabama fan that wants Saban gone.

What was wrong about what I said. At his current weight he already weighs more than any DE in LSU roster except for Chancey A. who is a senior and was not in the rotation.
Most if the LSU DE are between 235 and 255.
Based on the roster and current schemes he has a better shot at playing Jack at Bama than DE LSU.

Regardless of which side (LSU/Bama) you're taking in this fight, we all have to agree that Nkemdiche and the recruiting sites have achieved their goal: drawing maximum attention. It's crazy how much everyone is riled up over one single player. No individual player will make the difference for the LSU-Bama rivalry. Do both teams (and fan bases) want him badly? Sure. But it's ridiculous how obsessed some people have become over a 17-year-old kid.

Perhaps, you could switch out the word "Saban", with "Alabama".
The idea that people are saying that Nkemdiche wouldn't thrive in our defense is comical.
That said, y'all can have him as far as I care. I'd like to have him, if not no biggie.
Hell, as far as the DL goes...
He probably wouldn't excite me more by coming here than getting Prevot/Gilmore/Williams would.
Hell, I like the guys Auburn have in play more than just about anyone else.

We get your point, but it s not an absolute rule that Chavis will move him, he only moves ends in when they dont have the speed, which he does. He weight doesnt determine his position. Especially since Chavis gives players the final choice on the main position they will play. He might play DT in some packages, but the majority of time he will be on the ends

So why is he a sure fire DE at Bama and not a Jack, but LSU he is a definitely a DE and not a DT?
Any recruiter can easily put the tape on and show him upshaw played close to half his snaps with his hand in the dirt in a 4 man front.

Because he's the type of player that gets to pick what position he wants to play. Most coaches won't move someone's position unless the player agrees.
I think he could be a jack LB, but it would take him time to learn and get adjusted to the position. Playing as a DE in a 4-3 is natural to him, he didn't seem too comfortable with the jack LB idea. At LSU he could step in almost immediately, at Bama he would have to go through an adjusting process that would set him back. Especially with all the other great LB's that are going to be ahead of him on the learning curve. We have two of our best DE's leaving after this year and he would get lots of playing time. I think he would play as true freshman at Bama too, but he still wouldn't be in the position he feels comfortable with. He would eventually be a stud jack LB, but could be a stud DE right away. Plus most great OLB's in the NFL played predominately as DE's in college anyway.
And the only way he is getting moved to DT is if he wants to, neither Chavis nor Miles will move him
