My 17 year old son got rear ended yesterday. Looking at the pictures would you say the insurance will total it? 2014 with 50000 miles. Pushed the bed into the cab. Cannot tell if the frame is bent. It bent the rear leaf springs.
Truck would not start after wreck but I assume they have a fuel pump shutoff that was triggered.

Start looking for a new Ford.

Eta: hope your son is okay and was wearing a seat belt. If he's okay, great example of how quickly shite can go wrong.

He was wearing a seatbelt but he still broke his nose in 3 places. I still have not figured out how his head hit the steering wheel with his seat belt on. He is ok though.

Glad he's ok.

Same thing happened to me when I wrecked an '07 Silverado. Hit my forehead and hurt like hell.

That truck post-accident is still nicer than what I drove at 17.

Glad he's okay

The Yeti saved him...

In all seriousness, so happy he's ok. That's has to be a terrible call to get.

I think that truck is totaled unfortunately.

Ohhh man glad to hear he is ok. I fear when my daughter starts driving...she's only 10 lol. Need to be like 75% repair of value...and those repairs get up there in a hurry. I'd say it's a good chance.

Yea, I want it to be totaled. That thing will never be "right" after all those repairs.

That Yeti was full of ice and drinks pretty good lick to flip it upside down.

My son left for work a few minutes before me so I actually drove up on the wreck before he had time to call. One of the worst feelings I have ever had when I recognized his truck. Son tried to flag down two different cars that did not stop. This is a small country road and they had to slow down and go around him. Onstar called the wreck in as soon as it happened.

Sure looks like it would be totaled to me, but insurance companies have been know to do some crazy shite.

Looks like he got hit by a company vehicle, at least they should have good insurance and you shouldn't have to deal with a bunch of crap.

Glad everyone is okay

Was he stopped looked at crops or something? Seems like an odd road to get rear ended on

He was stopped making a left hand turn at an intersection. The driver of the van may or may not have told the ambulance driver that he had taken some Oxy that morning. But for a fact he had been arrested a couple of months ago for driving under the influence of a controlled substance at 7:45 am
At the accident scene I was cordial with the owner of the company and told him accidents happen. After finding out a little more information on the situation that sentiment has changed rather quickly and I am not so forgiving. If my son had started his turn before the hit he could have been killed.

It can almost always be worse, but it will still scare the shite out of you. Glad that he is ok. If that owner knows that he was arrested before, you need to nail their arse to the wall

I got rear ended in my 05 frontier by a tundra. Hit me so hard that the Toyota emblem was embedded in my tailgate. It did about 8k worth of damage but it wasn't totalled. It also knocked the bed into he cab and busted all the welds on the cab. Frame was bent and everything,it spent a week or so on the frame machine and got fixed.

I traded it in about 6 months later because every single squeak, noise, anything got to me.

That is exactly what I am afraid of.
