Little bit of an update today. The dealership called and said the body man has made his evaluation and the suspension and transmission guy will have a look tomorrow. Body damage is sitting at $18500.

I think he was wondering if that grew into anything.

So do you think you might talk to a lawyer?

At that price already, it's gonna be totaled. Keep track of how many days of work your son misses and add all that up.....That companies insurance will pay whatever they need too to stay out of court.

If they give you any resistance, tell them that your lawyer will be contacting them from now on....they will come around quickly

He should end up with a new truck and all his medical bills and lost wages paid

make him go to a doctor and get every test he can run to make sure nothing is wrong with him

To total it? When my wife wrecked her car, they had to reach 75% of kbb value. To my recollections anyway. It was worth nothing, so that was pretty damn easy. Lol

Correct. They are not required by law to total the vehicle until it costs 75% of cash value. At 18,500 estimate it's gonna be up to getting this thing settled with you over liability. If you hint at settling if they total without a bunch of legal issues, they will get you another one.
